First ballot Hall of Famer and the greatest TE to ever play, bar none.

I'm bummed but I'm not surprised. He was such a blast to watch and I hope he's able to have a great post-football life.

Not sure how to feel. One of the best to ever do it and so young and would’ve loved to have seen him play some more but dude has had countless surgeries and injuries so it’s best to leave the game on top.

Hope he finds success in whatever he decides to do whether that’s acting or wrestling. Been a Pats fan for just about my entire life, it was awesome watching Gronk play.

Good for him. I'm not too fond of the dude but he could barely run and his arm is fucked. He got out while he could

Also, surprised he didn't announce this on 4/20 or some childish thing

God bless Gronk in whatever he does after football. It's a shame the injuries shortened his career, but his impact on the team, and the league in general, makes him a no-doubt 1st ballot HoFer and one of the best to ever do it.

Can't wait to see him spike 10 football's and chug a keg of beer at his Canton speech in 5 years.

I’ll miss him for his incredibly dumb sound bites, but like they say on the Lebatard show, the guy is basically held together with duck tape.

Probably smart. Why do I get the feeling though that he’s going to end up one of those guys who blows all his money relatively quickly

Good on him for getting out early. He's already been banged up enough, and I don't think he really has anything else to prove.

Good for him. GOAT tight end.

Apparently he's also smart with his money. He never touched his NFL checks and only spent endorsement checks. Not sure where I've heard this.

Understandable. Got the rings, and he's seemed more injury prone in recent seasons. Now he can sail that party boat around the world.

He single most unstoppable player outside of actual cheating/cheap shotting I have ever seen in Football

He’ll be alright. He’s a legend in New England. Even if he blows through it all he’ll still be able to survive doing car dealership and sketchy lawyer commercials in Maine and New Hampshire.

He looked pretty rough last season but was a god when it counted, especially during that OT of the Chiefs game x 4th quarter of the super bowl

Gronk is smart to get out before 30
