T2 are clowns. DMCA'ing classic mods then removing the original versions to make room for what will most likely be butchered remasters with missing music. I'm not gonna write these off just yet but at this point there's no excuse not to have III/VC/SA sitting in your Steam library with SilentPatch + SkyGFX.

"To make way"? They aren't taking up shelf space, Rockstar, this isn't tinned soup.

Such bullshit. I've got them already but people should be able to experience the originals warts and all.

I just bought the original trilogy on Steam when I had no previous plans. Gotta preserve this shit. Fucking stupid history negating nonsense.

Of course...

Atleast offer them along with the new ones... They already did this with Bioshock, Mafia 2.

That being said, a pirate version of the delisted versions will be required any way if you want the "definitive" experience.

Fuck T2 and Rockstar.

Corporate Pieces of Crap.

The Funny thing is that since its exclusive to Rockstar Launcher, you can't even buy it on other PC Gaming Clients.

I'm worried this is a sign that the user mods they have unjustly DMCAed will be superior to their remake. Why would you be afraid of fan creations if their fan creations were inferior?

I am sure it will be.

Sony remade DS yet the fans found a way to fix the servers for the OG but never removed or banned the OG or the mod. Why? Cause the remake speaks for it's self.

Yes, please support and rebuy the same games you bought from struggling indie publisher Rockstar Games.

Besides it won't matter, the Definitive Edition is not gonna be on Steam anyway so there won't be an upgrade path of any kind.

Size of the company doesn't matter. Buying a game shouldn't entitle you to a re-release 20 years later.

The current versions on Steam already require you to mod the games in order to get the original soundtracks, graphics, etc. If I were going to replay these I'd probably do it on an actual PS2, less hassle and it'll look great on a CRT. Don't have much faith in the remasters being decent or better than the original release.

Why though... The Trilogy plays great on PS4, and I assume PS5 too. Just robbing consumers of choice and forcing them to pay the higher price for the remake.

This is how I recently replayed SA (first time since PS2 launch) along with CLEO (quick save and fast travel). Had a great time but didn't bother going for 100%.

So I assume that those who own the current PS4 version of the trilogy will at least get a digitial discount on the new version?

Right?

lol

If the new trilogy isn't coming to Steam, why even remove the old one. Weirdos.

Lame. It's shitty to remove the literal games you're supposedly celebrating in favor of new ones that fans might not even end up liking.

Yeah the games with the fan fixes are great versions and look great. I recommend everyone to do this.

Doesn't mean they are not allowed to give it free or that it isn't good customer service to give or significant discount.
It's just common practice, even 2K have given it's re-releases for free on Steam for original owners.
Besides that, Steam releases are already re-release. (Steam wasn't even thing when games first came out).

You will still have them sitting in your steam library. They're just being removed from the store.
