Rollin by Limp Bizkit is still a good song, dammit: Songs that shouldn't have aged well in your opinion

So I listened to this song for the first time in a long time today and watched the music video and it oddly seems like it should of aged poorly but the MV is kinda cheeky and the song is really hype. I think it's hard to take Fred Durst seriously but I don't think he ever really gave a fuck and it just makes his music really fun even in 2019. So what's some other stuff like this which surprisingly is still really good in 2019 when it shouldn't be?

It’s so bad it’s good. Not quite crossed into “it’s just normal good again” territory for me.

The Hackers soundtrack tho

Fat Lip - Sum 41 was a super late 90s/early 2000s kind of song, but it still bangs even to today
Might as well also add Limp Bizkit's My Way, because I can still listen to that

yup, it's so bad it's good. But it took a while for it to go through being so bad to come out being good again cause I know for damn sure no one liked this song 10 years ago.

The entire Hybrid Theory album by Linkin Park (and most of Meteora) is an album people used to regularly mock for being "emo" butt rock but it's a genuinely great nu-metal album with catchy hooks and choruses. Reanimation is also a wonderful remix album.

Limp Bizkit is like Linkin Park was 5 years ago. They are the butt of every joke, but give it another few years and people will say "I still listen to them and enjoy em"

I think the consensus has come around a bit on Linkin Park, which makes me happy.

Hybrid Theory is going to go down as a classic rock album.

It's not a bad song, but reminds me too much of Undertaker's shitty biker gimmick and therefore ruined forever.

'My way' however always reminds me of WM17 and thus have a special fondness for it.

I just had this song in my head an hour ago (remix is better). Weird. Also: Significant Other turns 20 on June 22 and Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water is a) a GOAT album title and b) the first major release I remember being leaked to Napster or WinMX pre-release.

I guess we're hitting the twenty-year nostalgia cycle for one of the worst eras in music, huh?

Hybrid Theory and Meteora are good, some of the few albums from that era that still hold up today. Don't Stay is a fucking banger of an opening.

When people enjoy Limp Bizkit, do we actually enjoy the music or do we like the nostalgic memories of Stone Cold and the Rock beating each other's asses that it gives us?

Limb Bizkit chocolate flavour something album was a legit great album, more than it had any right to be. My favourites from the album are The one, It'll be ok and Hold on. My way also a very iconic track.

Limp bizkit was always just a fun party band with a few funky interludes and ballads in between. Once fred started letting the fame get to his head, he began to consider himself a serious artist and everything went to shit

I met Wes Borland at a Swans show in Detroit a while back, and I gotta say I'm super impressed by how respectful and friendly the dude was

Sometimes it’s better to keep that thought or opinion inside and not let anyone know about it.

Murderous thoughts are one example.

This thread is another.

Rollin and My Generation are Limp's weakest, corniest hits. This comes from someone who still likes quite a bit of their music.

I remember from Fred Durst's AMA a few years ago, he explained that the line from that song "one, two, three times two to the sixth" was a thing he came up with to remember his locker combination. But then I was thinking about it, and I feel like it would just be easier to memorize the three numbers instead of doing all that math over and over again.

But back on topic, the album Full Collapse by Thursday still doesn't sound bad after all these years, despite it being so stereotypically screamo.

Fucking cursed OP and title that happen to be correct.

Its been a weird four days.

I did listen to them on radio in the early 00's, like 2001-03. I didn't turn the radio off.

Rollin is still their best song.

I'll need a sword and shield for Korn and System of Down. I'm taking applications.

Require armored regiment for Avenged Sevenfold.

LETS FUCKING GO

The person who said Sum 41's Fat Lip is still a great song was objectively correct. I dare say, it's timeless.

I still hate Limp Bizkit and I still hate this song. The lyrics are fucking garbage.

Don't give me the "it's supposed to be dumb" excuse. This shit is lobotomy level dumb.

At first i hated them, I used to make fun of people who listened to them, then I started to like them and I love several of their albums.

I found Rearranged and the Mission Impossible song they did to be good.

Idk if Lit's My Own Worst Enemy applies here, but that song is so damn fun.

It's worth remembering that Limp Bizkit were that big at one point their music videos had the likes of Halle Berry, Bill Paxton and Thora Birch in them...
