Yeah I remember the turban wearing dude driving a taxi in the original trailer. They seem to be embracing stereotypes. I guarantee that taxi driver will have a thick accent and say some stereotypical stuff.

This shit is also pretty fucked up

There's......a lot to unpack here, I don't know why the word is Manticure, I think it actually wants to use Manicure, since it's clearly a a cosmedic advertisement to change your sex.

Also it's hyper-sexualized as hell since your eyes are drawn to the genitalia(Queue that's a penis.gif).

It seems like a porn advertisement, same type you see on porn sites for Transgender porn, and of course Futanari hentai art.

Hopefully they have a more positive trans representation in the game, since it appears in this future it might be easier to transition with the available technologies/splicing?

I don't think the wild hypocrisy in stances like this is going to help the message reach the people it needs to.

I don't think it's wild hypocrisy to be critical how the mostly male, mostly white press remains mostly uncritical issues like racism in big budget video games.

At this point Watchdogs looks to be more accurately embracing some the core original themes of Cyberpunk like anti-corporatism

My main concern seeing the footage so far is how unlikeable the main character seems to be , he just comes across as a douchebag.

Not surprised in the least about the shooting. The Witcher 3 gameplay is mediocre at best.

What worries me is this stereotypical representation. :/

But Keanu, this is their redemption.

I'm pretty much sure that even killing people is unremarkable at least as the racist/genre problems people highlight here.

tough I don't see anyone making a drama about "killing" in... every game in the history?

After combat being one of the biggest criticized aspects of TW3, you'd expect it would be good in CP2077. Pretty disappointing if the end result is underwhelming, especially due to the first person view.

Uhh. I'm pretty sure that's an ad for either candy or some sort of drink that allows you to mix up flavors.

Oh not this again?! I was hoping they'd get the gameplay right this time since it's just shooting and not melee/sword based combat.

And they're failing at that?

It's hard to be progressive and empathetic to other cultures when your country is so homogenized. Visiting Poland with a black friend of mine was eye opening.

I mean, most diverse countries are only diverse because of their history of slavery and colonialism, not because they're just 'more progressive' by default. So sure, in the UK or US we have a much larger population of POC than Poland, but we're also responsible for murdering many, many more POC than Poland has ever been. I don't think people from the US and Western Europe are in any position to judge Polish culture, especially when the West is so responsible for the shape of modern Poland, with the introduction of an aggressively market-based economy and the cultural prioritisation of Catholicism after the socialist era.

Transphobic/racist dev makes tone deaf jokes in their new game, consider me shocked.

It's ok to be wrong sometimes, admit it and then learn from it, sadly that's something CDPR quite clearly is incapable of doing.

As good as this game turns out to be (it doesn't even seem to be that good anyway) I am never spending money to support a dev with such a distorted view of society. It's just disgusting really.

At this point, it looks like CDPR is actively trying to show they're biggots.

Well they've never made shooters OR first person games. Even if some of the staff is new or from Remedy etc.
As an example Respawn Entertainment didn't nail down their mechanics in Medal of Honor yet, took awhile and some games to get it right for COD4 and now finally we have Apex Legends.

The Witcher had an incredible world but none of the 3 games had compelling gameplay. It seems like it's improved for Cyberpunk but this opinion is somewhat worrying. I don't want to play a dull shooter for 50-100 hours just because of a good story or world, the game has to feel good for me to bother.

From everything I've seen it seemed the world would be the star of this game. Unlike something like Doom where it's fun to get into little arenas and engage in fun combat.

So instead of the "Mythical beast typically depicted as having the body of a lion, the face of a man, and the sting of a scorpion."

The sting of a scorpion is a penis...that fits..I guess?

Nah, it has chro, which is clearly short for chromosome and a picture of a girl with a huge bulge next to it, it's pretty clear what it's advertising.

I'm not excusing the history of racism in Western cultures by pointing out racism in a game being developed by a Central European country. That's quite a leap.

This is true, but I need the game to feel right as well. It's one of the reasons I don't bother with most grindy turn-based "encounter every 5 seconds" JRPG: the story and the world may be the best thing ever but I ain't sitting through dozens of hours of unfun activities. I really hope this won't be Cyberpunk's case.

They really have a dream game here and they're gonna potentially fuck it all up because perhaps they can't write for shit outside the world of the witcher.

All this shit is stupid stuff you'd expect from maybe the 360/ps3 era but we're way past that now. It's almost inexcusable in 2020 to have such trite laziness for a triple A title

Surprise surprise!

Can't believe i went from being excited about this crap to despising it. This shit will push the alt-right agenda while everyone dismisses it because "oh, so original, it's new!".

Can't wait for more stereotypes about minorities!

If you wanted you could also read it as chromosome cure

16 flavours is such a weird way of advertising that but you might be right. I took it as an even more crass ad that was pulling from trans fetishization to advertise something as trivial as mixing flavors of food.

CDPR has a history of transphobic nonsense and their seemingly only trans representation in his game is a feshistic "Big Dick Girl" from the poster.
Yeah, I didn't see the dick at first.

This sucks of them. Makes me want to avoid the game as they have a pattern of this kind of stuff. Played through 3 Witcher games and didn't see one person that looks like me(black).

The "they're polish and out of touch" defense doesn't work anymore, they have fans from all over and they should learn to respect us all.

Do they actually have a "history"? I know of the one tweet thing, but were there any other incidents?

(The GOG social manager thing was a whole different kind of offensive and not related to trans issues)

Nevermind, I saw now that one of the GOG social manager tweets used a trans hashtag.

So CDPR is bad at 3rd person combat and 1st person shooting with stereotyping to boot. Disappointing, this was my most anticipated game ever. Basically my dream game

Maybe that xenophobia in cyberpunk has merit after all. First Deus Ex, now this.

OH shit. Is this for real? That's gonna be a yikes from me!

I'm not terribly excited for Cyberpunk 2077. I really did not care for any of the Witcher games. They're all extremely mediocre. So no loss for me.

Throwing a terrible yet thoroughly integrated transphobic joke into a prominent space in your big demo is probably not a good idea after getting blasted for posting cringeworthy transphobic jokes on your corporate social media. In fact, going out on a limb here, it probably shouldn't have been included in the game at all.
