We've been talking about it in the Star Wars spoilers thread over in Hangouts. Not a fan of the ST's continuation of bland alien designs but Kylo putting the helmet back on makes sense. He was embarrassed by Luke and rejected by Rey when he tried to become his own man and now he's falling back into what makes him feel powerful.

Bringing back Kylo's helmet seems like it would really go against his whole "let the past die" rage at the end of the last film.

I've seen pictures of Poe on location dressed like that. The Kylo images also line up with other rumours. Look genuine to me.

I don't mind the generic alien designs. At least they seem like they could've come from A New Hope and Empire. Last time they tried to be wild and zany, we got the casino scenes from TLJ, and we know how people feel about that...

Costume design looks pretty great, alien designs not so much.

Also not liking the Kylo helmet, guess JJ doesn't give a shit about character development

Did everyone misread the whole point of the movie?

I have my problems with it, but it's very clear that the incessant need to completely erase the past WAS the obstacle to overcome. That's why Luke and Rey embrace the jedi teachings at the very end, and why Kylo completely fell back on being an evil dipshit. Whether or not you think the "reset" back to the status quo is lame and redundant is up to you, but that's absolutely what Rian tried to do by the end of the film.

The casino alien and costume designs in TLJ were tremendous. Far more creative than the bland stuff at Takodana in TFA.

See, I would have actually liked him getting rid of the mask if he had decided to do it at the end of LJ to tie it into what you're saying. But, him getting rid of it immediately 'cause Snoke talks shit was lame.

lol bringing back the helmet completely ruins his entire development in TLJ

knew Abrams was gonna fall back on what was easiest. power to him, though. hope the movie is good in its own right
