I'm extra excited for more Silent Hill, bring it on!

But honestly, I don't understand why people seem to want Platinum to do everything, like they're magic or something.

Supermassive for the Until Dawn like Silent Hill game.
If the Impatient didn't exist I would be ok with that sentence.

But the Impatient exists so no. It's made by the same team right? Such a letdown as UD was so good.

Also, could Silent Hill remake be the big one Bluepoint teased about working on ?

Hopefully they'll have a higher budget to work with than what Contra: Rogue Corps got.

If Konami wants to take another crack at it, I'll welcome it with open arms. Especially if Masahiro Ito is involved, which would be a promising sign that Konami means business.

Before PT, I had basically written the series off as dead after Konami outsourced the series for a decade straight with consistently mediocre-at-best results. And after the PT/Silent Hills debacle, I've learned not to get too excited about a promising return until it's firmly in my hands. So really, what's the worst they can do?

Konami reached out to various developers to pitch ideas for two Silent Hill games. Doesn't sounds promising as we know Konami of Europe will find Western developers in Europe to make them. Masahiro Ito is probably not involved with a Konami project this time.

I definitely don't want Kojima and his Hollywood based cutscenes and writing in Silent Hill. I wouldn't mind if they got a competent western developer to do this as Sam Barlow almost had it with Shattered Memories.

Is it a coincidence that Phil Spencer was in Japan talking to devs or could these things be related somehow?

Konami should make a blank check to Playdead and hand them the Silent Hill IP if they don't bring back Team Silent.

Don't give me hope.

License it to
- Bluepoint a Remake
- Toyama team or Tango third person game. Tango's been hiring like crazy but I'm guessing that's for Ghostwire or another game.

I mean, if this means we get another third person survival horror game then I'm in. Capcom is killing it with Resident Evil at the moment, and the only other competition I can really think of is The Evil Within which I love so much but hasn't had as much impact as it perhaps could. There's so much untapped potential still left in the Silent Hill ip.

They got a developer last year and already want to show this year? Yeesh.

They also want several titles simultaneously? Did they forgot what happened last time they did that?

I hope they picked up on the fact that RE2R is succesfull not just because it's horror and a beloved franchise, but also because it's a great game :)

Bums crossed!

I don't trust Konami, but I'm willing to wait until there's any gameplay trailers or even a demo out before completely judging them :P

If they don't have a demo I'll just have my friend buy the game before me and tell me if they liked it since they share similar tastes.

Remember what Konami did recently when they brought Contra back?
NSwitch_ContraRogueCorps_06.jpg

A pretty ugly looking pile o shite that's no more a Contra game than my arse is.

Imagine what they'll allow to happen to Silent Hill nowadays, when they let something like the HD Collection happen back when they kind of still gave a shit. I shudder to think.
Exactly my thoughts. This is a top 3 series for me. I'd rather have nothing than Silent Hill Rogue Corps

Let's hope! However with the persistent rumors of Team Silent being brought back(at least I read that here a lot) and that Ito tweet where he says he hopes the new game he's working on doesn't get cancelled (wink wink), I'm starting to believe lol

What instantly makes me weary of these rumors is that it sounds like Konami is trying to outsource again, which is what killed the series last time... RE7 and REmake 2 ended up as good as they were because Capcom returned to what (some) fans were asking for and put care into the games as opposed to just licensing out the IP to another dev (which would get us something like Umbrella Corps!).
So yeah, I don't have any faith in Konami not messing this one up.

Ouch. :(

Any other SH4-lovers out here?
Me. I had issues with the escort mission AI in the second half of the game but I still enjoyed it overall. Especially compared to what came after it... (I do have a soft spot for Downpours side missions though)

It's the room right? I'm mixed on this one, I remember really liking the parts in his actual room where it's freaky and "scary" while the world out the window is normal, the rest I liked much less. I wish they made some kind of small VR game based on the first person parts of the room.
Note : this is from my memories of playing the game once at launch and never ever treplaying it, so maybe it's rose tinted glasses, maybe I would hate it entirely if I played it again today. But at least I have some good memeories of this game, unlike the ones after

No, not really.

The best Silent Hill game is pretty much a new beginning that could have made the series work as an anthology, which probably would serve the purpose of different teams working on it much better than the obssession with extending the incredibly vague plot of the first game.

2, 4, Origins and Homecoming are standalone titles for all we can tell.

Just make a new game with modern sensibilities into design set in Silent Hill and we are golden.
Origins and Homecoming are both linked to 1, Origins even more so than 3 really with literally having Lisa, Kaufman, and Dahlia.

2, 4, and Downpour are very much stabdalone, though.
