A user who would prefer to stay anonymous has reached out to the mod team with proof that a Nintendo Direct is scheduled for the 7th Feburary.
Among this the proof also provided knowledge that there isn't plans for a new/successor to the Switch this year and that Nintendo is only beginning to work closer with Chinese manufacturers
Having looked at the proof first hand and spoken with the other mods we cannot confirm this to be legit, but we also cannot prove that it's false and with the permission of the user that contacted us we wanted to share the (hopefully) good news with you all!

Isn't Nintendo's investor meeting scheduled for the 7th? Directs are usually on Wednesday/Thursday too...

The mods of this subreddit are not trustworthy to verify anything. You could probably just make a fake list and they'll nod their head.

There's no specific day of the week Directs happen, but Tuesday is the most frequent day. The Investor's Call will indeed be on the same day, but I'm not sure that means anything.

Either way, we should be getting a Direct this or (more likely) next week considering all the smoke regarding Nintendo news that we've been seeing lately.
