It does matter because it does set a bad precedent.

But I see what you are trying to hint at in your comment. If you want to paint a legit concern as console wars then it's you the one who needs to give it a think.

So I wanted to clarify some things since there was miscommunication both internally and in this thread: We are going to uphold a ban on the 28th if this doesn't come to pass, because the staff made that commitment. But we have reason to believe that he didn't pull this out of thin air, so the ban won't be permanent, and if Bluepoint is acquired while he's banned he'll definitely be welcome back.

The level of hate the OP has been receiving for this has been over the top to the point that a lot of members have felt uncomfortable with it.

We're going to come down very hard on posters who are just chasing attention or clout without any real sources, but we don't think that was the case here. The relentless personal attacks have been uncalled for.

This thread hasn't been generating any constructive discussion lately and so it's going to stay closed.
