Joe Parlock said:The Witcher's Geralt of Rivia is to be the guest character in Bandai Namco's Soulcalibur VI.
A few weeks ago, anonymous sources contacted LPVG with this information. However, while we have vetted the sources to be legitimate, acquiring the further evidence required for publication proved difficult. Until today, that is.
A tweet by CD PRojekt Red's community lead Marcin Momot has now teased that Geralt will be "making an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year" for the very first time. This tweet gives enough credence to the reports we received for publication – Geralt is happening, folks.
It's worth remembering Bandai Namco, the publisher of Soulcalibur, also worked with CD Projekt Red in distributing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand. This isn't as out of the blue you might have previously thought – the two companies have a friendly working relationship.
On top of all this evidence, Geralt just fits in the world. A fighting game with swords and supernatural elements? Who's a better character for it than a supernatural swordmaster? I mean… we've had Yoda, is Geralt really such a stretch?
Official confirmation is sure to come within the next few months. Until then, just picture the White Wolf giving Mitsurugi or Nightmare the ol' smackdown.
