Given the credibility of this leak, if you do not want the endgame of Red Dead 2 spoiled, you should bail now. While it doesn't outright spoil the end of the game or the story, it may imply things and ruin a pretty massive surprise. You've been warned.
Given the new wave of official info that has been released for Red Dead Redemption 2 with confirmation of camps, gang management, and the appearance of John Marston, I figured I should bring this leak back into the light.
Before Red Dead Redemption 2 was ever even officially announced or just around the time of the first teaser, someone leaked some info about the game on Reddit. At the time, a lot of people just dismissed it because well, it's Reddit and people can make stuff up so easily. In hindsight, he nailed a lot of stuff to the tee and it's way too much to be just a coincidence.
The leaker confirmed the protagonist was Arthur Morgan, the camp management systems, and a basic idea of the plot. Again, this was before the game was officially announced or at the very least (I can't find the original Reddit post), around the time of the first trailer which gave us none of this information.
With that said, the rumor said that once the credits roll, players will switch to John Marston to build his ranch in Beecher's Hope.
"There is kind of a game plus like like the last one had. You end up at Beechers Hope and switch control to John Marston. There are then lots of quests etc dealing with building up your ranch. You literally will do x And Z to build a gazebo. I heard someone designed a mini game where you help a mare give birth that had people laughing."
Obviously, this could get cut but it sounds as if they've spent a lot of time developing this aspect and it'll give us a look at John's life before Red Dead Redemption, hell, maybe it'll even lead directly into John's capture and the government seizing his family. Only time will tell how fleshed out this endgame is but I'm incredibly interested in this game and can't wait to play it.
