these top end cards don't match the alleged geekbench scores. so I'm kinda questioning which are real

Gonna build a Ryzen 4000 + RTX 3070 PC on September or as soon as both things are available if they take longer than that. Can't wait!

That sort of gap between the 3080 and 3080ti just doesn't make sense to me.

Early speculation...

A 3060 would be a 2070 super with better ray tracing capabilities. A 3070 would be in between a 2080 super and a 2080 ti, once again with better ray tracing. The 3080 would be a bit above the 2080 ti with better ray tracing. And the 3080 ti would be an absolute beast of a card that shits over everything else in the world, by a lot.

Well worth it for people that were waiting. Especially if the prices aren't completely outrageous.

I'm really hoping the 3080 TIs are around $1200.

If pricing stayed the same we would essentially have a 2070 super for $400, a 2080 super for $500 and a $2080 ti for $700.

barring some dramatic change in the marketplace, there's no way these are gonna be anywhere near as cheap as the 900 cards were in their day, right? :(

Dropping the cards another $100 from my best guess would be amazing. It's also probably where we should be at this point in GPU technology.

Maybe if AMD drops a 5800XT with hardware raytracing.
please AMD, save us (and by 'us' I mean me, with my ol reliable 970 that I paid £260 for when it was brand new in 2015)

It's sad how, even if they did drop by like £100, they'd still be much more expensive than their 900-series equivalents were :(

that '3080TI' really seems more like a titan to me, honestly.

Weren't these kinda walked back as far as 'rumors' go after the engineer deleted his own tweet after agreeing that it was speculation?

yea, I think some folks found that the original chinese site reporting these specs called this a rumor themselves

The 70 series used to beat the previous gen's 80 ti. It seems like the 3070 is pretty close to a 2080 ti. My best guess is the 3070 is $500, and not $330 like the 970, or $400 like the 1070.

That step up from the 3080 to the 3080ti is more of a gulf than a gap. Seems unlikely.

When these come out I think I'm gonna try and flip my 2070 super and get the 3080

AMD is saving all of their hardware raytracing bits for the consoles. Maybe next year.

I'd wait, but I use emulators too much and AMD OpenGL support is ass, so I'm going to nab a 3070 or 3080 regardless.

Hopefully, more games take advantage of DLSS in the future.

If these specs are accurate I might even say it's worth it. Those specs are bonkers.

Yes. I've allocated $1,200 in my budget this year for a an Nvidia card, if it ends up being a monster. Otherwise, I will likely just end up having to settle for whatever the next, lower cost card is. Been sitting with a 1080 Ti for too long now, and the 2080 Ti was simply not worth the cost at launch to me.

Just give me an excuse to upgrade my 1080ti...

Please be excited!

yeah, it'll be much more than i can afford, sadly. PC gaming's gotten much more expensive since I last made any major upgrades. Like, the cost for a 70-series has more than doubled.

Yah, I'm more hoping the competition'll drive down prices than anything else--I wanna be able to take advantage of DLSS.
