I'm not quite getting what Microsoft gets out of these deals. Cuphead and Ori on Switch is great, but it's not as if Nintendo is giving Microsoft access to a franchise in return. I wonder what MS views the value as being.
1 - sales. microsoft makes more on software and takes a loss on hardware AFAIK. so immediately, there's profit
2 - good will, and introducing the franchise to players that might have never played the series, and maybe would never try it otherwise
3 - hype people up for the new halo 6 or whatever and get sales from new fans that could translate into more people wanting the nextbox.
there's actually quite a lot of reasons as i went over in my previous post and it seems like it would be a good move imo.
