Did anyone wanna do the 11 OT? If not I'll probably start working on one for it today.

Go ahead! That subtitle was great, by the way.

Trixie spoiled me on an elimination on her insta story before the finale and then RuPawsDragRace spoiled the winners on there for me after so I have no real desire to finish AS4. I am definitely on #teamletASrestabit. AS4 was definitely very... meh? to me. I'm not sure why.

idk - I feel weird. I'm not excited about S11 at all. It has nothing to do with the queens or anything. I just think I'm on a drag race overload or something. Get money though - I know Ru is gonna milk this as much as she can and that makes sense. I just may have to binge at some point and just unfollow the two drag accounts I keep up with.

I feel the same. That's what saturation does, but media companies (games, TV, cinema) value short term earnings above all else.

I'm definitely going to start unfollowing every queen I currently am before S11 starts because I see far too many spoilers on social media before I get around to watching the episode.

Plus once the show is over I don't actually care about them all that much, as harsh as that sounds, and also I can't tolerate them promoting whatever their new rubbish song is they're currently flogging.

I've followed and unfollowed several queens from the show, the only one I've never unfollowed is Shea Coulee.

I feel like RPDR burn out really is a thing.
It happened to me just before season 8 premiered and yeah it had nothing to with any of the queens (including Ru herself).
I just didn't wanna watch the show for a while, and I completely avoided the GAF OTs and the main subreddit for two whole main seasons.

I kept up with drag queens and the community mostly through places like YouTube, Instagram and Reddit because I just love to see men express femininity and be gender-nonconforming, its a very beautiful thing.

She was never a colossal bitch.
I honestly don't see how anyone can watch S6 and come away with "colossal bitch" as a phrase to describe Courtney.
This has been addressed by her and she was never anything compared to say, actual bitches like Phi Phi (who's BS about editing I still don't buy).

At best, Courtney Act was sociopathic and just unaware of how shitty some of her comments were. I don't know how you can watch season 6 and not think she was an asshole. She even had to address it towards the end of her run and talk about how she seemed blissfully unaware (which I don't buy) that her comments were being interpreted that way. Haha. It's all good if we differ here, but that's definitely how I read her and how a lot of people who watch the show with me read her.

Color me also a little bit mystified as to how she has such a big fan following. She was really forgettable. I'm honestly not trying to be incendiary. I just found her to be ultra mid-tier material compared to all the other Legends throughout the show's history.

I don't think there would be "fatigue" if All-Stars just ...Like, stopped. First of all, they need a couple years to build up some new queens. Second of all, we all need some months of the year where the show is not happening so that it feels exciting when it comes back. Third, AS is clearly an inferior show; the formula is broken, it feels lower-budget and lower-stakes, and there are far fewer surprises because we already know everyone who shows up.

Yeah, S6 had a lot of manufactured drama with C/J and D/B. Phi Phi is just hypercompetitive.
I wish more queens played like phiphi tbh. She's mean, vicious, and sometimes nasty, but I'll be damned if she isn't great television. S4 and AS2 would not have been the same without her.

An underwheing ending to an underwhelming season. I feel like I'm done with drag race, honestly.

At least Trixie won't feel as much an oddball in the hall of fame anymore, since now more than half of it is composed by queens who didn't deserve to win.

It was all editing, it's not that serious.

welcome, nowhere
I know it more than likely won't happen, but it would be nice if they considered bringing in contestants from the UK version into All Stars as well at some point in the future.

I mean, they'll probably do a US vs UK edition at some point, if ANTM of all reality shows did one under VH1.

To add fuel to the fire, they also did this with Project Runway: All Stars. They've pretty much recycled all their most memorable people as much as they can. Now in season 7, they have an "all winners" series.

The twist? Half the contestants are the winners from other countries.

I could see RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars: Season 9 being like that. :p

AS4 had me dragged out by the end of the season, but I'm now kind of excited for S11 solely because of Tiffany Pollard.

When would be a good time to post the Season 11 thread, next Monday or next Wednesday?
Can't wait for you guys to see it also! I've probably put more effort into this OT than they did with the Holislay special.

That would imply they actually put an effort into the Special.

If you watch any of her Youtube stuff on her and her friends' channels, she's just a gorgeous queen and a sweet person.

"Sociopathic," smh. You're swallowing RPDR's drama-stirring manufactured narrative hook, line, and sinker. I can't believe you put such trust in the editing. It's all emotional manipulation designed to push the POV that the producers think will keep viewers engaged. Of course they're going to omit any footage that contradicts the ice queen caricature they created for Courtney. She doesn't exactly have the livewire personality of Willam.

Also, her looks alone put her high above many other queens. Very often, she's unclockable.

Courtney is a queen and arguably the queen with the most mainstream success that was on RPDR, even if the show/wow presents doesn't seem to want to acknowledge that. She also spreads a lot of awareness when it comes to stuff like safe sex and politics, more than any other (RPDR) queen I've seen.

I'm currently on the Kesha Cruise and Thorgy hosted Dirty Bingo with a cruise employee and they went drink for drink with each other.
But Thorgy can fuckin put em away and was still dancing around only slightly slurring her words when they had to escort the poor other girl off the stage cause she couldn't walk straight or speak anymore.
Basically Thorgy is a damn tank and so much fun

Has anyone gone to the Haters Roast tour? More specifically, has anyone brought non-drag race friends to it?

I can get some cheap tickets, but I am curious if it's too "inside baseball" to be funny to people who don't know all the queens going in.

It's pretty inside baseball. And if you go a second time make sure the queens are pretty much all different cause they're not exactly getting new material on the regular.

FWIW I agree with you. Everyone saying "it's the edit" when multiple queens before have said shit like "you can't always blame the edit, you still said those things" etc. I honestly cannot stand her and feel like 95% of the reason why she has such a huge following is because she's beautiful, thin, and white and chases those 15 minutes like no tomorrow.

Although even though I really don't like her, she killed it on DWTS.

The YouTube channels are the epitome of a controlled narrative, imo. She can present herself any way she wants there. I'd trust that source last.

I don't put blind faith in the editing. I've worked reality tv and know how well some things can be twisted. But even if you take some of the shit she said as an island, they were crude and without empathy on their own. I'm a bit tired of the argument that shitty queens got a 'bad edit'. Doesn't the portrayed behaviour turn out to be true most of the time when other contestants are interviewed later? Though I suppose they aren't super trustworthy either if they have an agenda.

Sociopathic in this context is just the raw definition. She delivered some lines without empathy that hurt people, and later expressed disbelief that her words were interpreted that way. I felt she was super disingenuous. She knew what she was doing, regardless of how the edit was going to portray things, imo.

From my experience working several reality shows, the contestants' personalities are definitely exacerbated in the final product, but rarely ever totally manufactured. The story editors and producers are more observers than anything in the first few tapings and auditions and find real foundations to build on.

I find her absolutely self-obsessed and insufferable and, just like Valentina, I think a lot of her fandom and support comes from her by-the-book beauty and pageant aura (i.e. thim, beautiful, gorgeous, perfect) rather than being a great person. And yeah I know my impression of her is coloured by the edit including more moments where she was terrible, but I'm going with my gut on this one.

I'll include the disclaimer that I can't know the truth for sure. None of us can. These are my opinions, haha.

We can disagree on her looks, haha. She's a dime a dozen vanilla barbie doll to me. Forgettable and plastic. I know that's a minority opinion, but there it is.

Courtney was a little bit of a insensitive bitch towards Joslyn Fox in her season, and that was not editing.

I saw her live and she is actually quite entertaining, but she did come across as if she thought she was better than anyone in the competition during the show.

I don't suppose y'all watched Celebrity Big brother when Courtney was on?

She's the real deal. She can be a bit obnoxious at times, but she literally was explaining things like gender expression and mediating tension the whole time.

I'm not a particularly huge fan of hers but still the edit argument has some basis. She called out the shoe's transphobic mini challenge and effectively got herself blacklisted for disagreeing with Rupaul. Plus, they filmed a tie for Bianca and Adore but never filmed anything extra with Courtney

Also the edit thing kinda has a point when you have Trinity on season 9 who apparently said that Valentina was crazy for praying to her candle when she was actually talking about Cucu.

I just rewatched season 6. I had forgotten just how awful Darienne Lake really was, can't believe she made top 4. Undeserved. Laganja was so annoying, and I saw a video of her just recently and I guess she chose to amplify that persona of yes mawma so I guess her stans like it.
