He's saying that this time the character wasn't revealed in advance of them being shown off.
Aw man, I prefer when Smash characters get announced out in a Direct without it being 100% clear that the trailer is Smash right away. Oh well.

He's saying the character hasn't been revealed yet. All the previous characters (Hero, Banjo, Terry) had already been revealed by the time their presentations happened.
It'll be Kiryu because Yakuza released on WiiU and just to make his exclusion out of Tekken even more baffling.
