Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark: Schwartz or Gammell?

What really made the book series so great?

Do you feel the tales that Schwartz told in the stories were the backbone of the series?

Or was it the disturbing and chilling artwork of Gammell that defined them?

Or were they both were equally important for each other?

Both were great. Some of them I still think about time from time.

Can't separate them. I will say though that some of the stories were just okay but the artwork always 100% incredible across the board.
