School misinterprets Smash Bros anticipation message as shooter threat

Kids who are not that invested in video games.
You do know when you state paranoia that you imply it is unlikely to happen, or that the fear is not valid. In America it is a real possibility some disturbed kid could have done that and actually plan on shooting people.
There has been 36 school shootings in US this year resulting in 42 deaths and 81 injuries. Maybe it is safer where you live but it isn't valid to pass of the fears here as "paranoia".

I can't imagine living in the level of fear these young kids and teachers do everyday now. When I was at uni I had mass shooting nightmares twice a semester, but I was an adult then...

Ah ok, thanks for letting me know. I kinda had a feeling that there was a meaning behind it.
Sad state of affairs, certainly. But if I were a kid in the know at that school, I would have been hoping they didn't figure it out in time, just to get the day off.
