MATTHEWS, N.C. - Matthews police confirmed Butler High School in Matthews is on lockdown after one student was shot.

The victim was rushed to the hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

Authorities said another student was taken into custody.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools said the single shooter was apprehended and the weapon is in the possession of law enforcement.

Glad there wasn't a massive kill count this time and the badguy was taken into custody quickly

Guns feel like they're never going to go away because they are predominantly a white privilege. These mass shootings are typically carried out by white people, so the problem is hand waved away.
