sony got sued for removing a feature called other os from the ps3 that let you install linux, windows, etc after advertising it as a selling point and using it to bypass a classification in europe as a game console since if it was classified as a computer they could bypass certain laws or something

Did Sony originally add it to skirt paying certain taxes in Europe? As they tried to classify the PS3 as a personal computer?

Not sure, but the first check I got for 10.87 or whatever was an odd shape and I couldn't use my phone app camera deposit with it. I actually had to go to the back...it was like the first time in two years.

Lol, yeah got mine yesterday also. Funny enough, was chatting with my neighbor at the mailboxes and she got a check for some other settlement too. Might've been a whole $20 for hers though. I guess it's the season for settlement checks.
