Useless or not you need it for backwards compatibility.
The people wanted backwards compatibility...
The real question is: will it still have gyro, and will developers finally take advantage of it?
There have been plenty of good uses for it. It's infinitely better than just having a "Select" button, imo.
Controller is bigger and heavier according to wired articleAre the sticks actually smaller or is the controller just bigger? Looks a bit larger and more winged in nature.
Yeah looks more rounded. Are the sticks actually smaller or is the controller just bigger? Looks a bit larger and more winged in nature.
does it need paddles with variable resistance on the triggers?
rip battery life
Why? I mean I neither hate nor love it, but you can count the games that properly used that thing on one hand.
Because they want it BC right out of the box. One controller for all things. They don't want people to have to plug in a DS4 for PS4 games and a DS5 for PS5 games. For BC why not just make the PS4 controller compatible? Not that I mind the touchpad.
I honestly end up liking it a lot whenever it's used and it also functions well as a trackpad. You can map an absurd amount of stuff by splitting it into quadrants and adding swipes, etc.
Paddles are for face buttonsdoes it need paddles with variable resistance on the triggers?
Keeping the touchpad makes sense for backwards compatability. It's handy for FF14 so I'm glad it's still there.
