Interesting, when was the other time an arcade perfect version was put out? The PS2 one?
I am super bummed they could not end off the line with this and Phantasy Star 1. Those games are begging to be played in 3D.

I am not sure there is an arcade perfect version, even in emulation, last time (quite a while ago) i checked the co processors were not perfectly emulated, making AI and collision boxes a little off.
Ha, agreed. JSR at the top must be some top tier trolling or something surely. Outrun 2, Sega Rally (1 and 2), Daytona (1 on switch and 2) and Scud Race need to be done on ALL platforms fucking right now
Well it has been re-released a few times now. Even though all those ports have problems with the controls, making them less than ideal, the fact that NiGHTS is playable on modern platforms in some form makes it a less desirable choice than the likes of Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Mixed feelings about this one. Happy that we're finally getting a great port but the Switch is probably the worst destination for racing games given its lack of analogue triggers.
Are you sure you're not referring to Hard Drivin' on the Mega Drive (YANK!)? Because Virtua Racing is a very recognisable title, and given its use of a co-processor in the cart, I don't see how it would have been a demo version (if you're implying there were multiple other games on that same cartridge).

Wing War is an arcade dogfighting game that runs on the same Model 1 board that Virtua Racing and VF1 use. It also got an enhanced Saturn port (texture mapping!) under the name Wing Arms.
Amazing. If you would have told me I would be able to play this on a handheld one day after playing the arcade game as a kid I would have shit myself. So exciting!!!!
Oh my god this is so beatiful. I almost sure that M2 will include extra tracks for earlier ports. I'll be there day one I hope this will be the beginning of a Sega Ages Racing series that included also Sega Rally, Daytona, Scud Race and Outrun 2!

I'm legit excited for this. I was wondering why it went missing in the recent Genesis collection but here we are
HD remaster isn't out in Japan until mid-November even though it's done already (can put the Steam release into Japanese mode by changing a single line in a config file) which may explain it?
I've read some user saying that Sega lost the source code ages ago. Emulation is a possibility on platforms with enough CPU grunt.

I can see that going after the REAL racing games from SEGA has licenses involved, so getting this one would be an easy first step. I'd expect LESS Daytona USA, and more Sega Racing Classic.
I think it's just people wanting the game on Switch making themselves heard. There hasn't been any indication that the remaster would come anyway, and given how rushed it seemed to have been I wouldn't expect it either.
The more Shenmue love the better anyway.
I wonder if there's any chance that the madmen at M2 might be brave enough to replicate the Virtua Formula version as well, using the Switch's Local Wireless/LAN capabilities...

Because they confirmed some games from the wanted list are already in the works for Sega Ages. Before people lose their shit over Saturn, Dreamcast and Model 2/3 fantasies (phantasies?) I can almost guarantee they're none of those. At least not in the rest of Wave 1 and probably not Wave 2 either.

It's entirely plausible that Nintendo platforms are where the audiences for that game and others are at. I'll also put it out there that a Jet Set Radio/Splatoon crossover needs to happen. It would be pretty special.
Lots of collision issues that never existed before and more slowdown than on Genny. It's only slightly alleviated by turning off drop dash.
The game that got me into racing games! I'm happy I have a Switch now! Also those screens look WAAAY better than I remember the game looking on my Megadrive. Was the arcade version that much better?! Is this upscaled in any way?
