I love Sega's games, but as a company they have a lot to improve.

Also, they need to understand that FIGS alone is not enough and they need to add more languages to their games. It seems that they live in another world and ignore reality. Many of their games could be much more successful if they had more languages.

Video game companies are the worst when it comes to crediting former employees after they leave. Remember when Square removed Yasunori Mitsuda's name from Chrono Trigger PS1 after he went freelance? :(

This one isn't about crediting employees after they leave. This is about not crediting THE ENTIRE LOCALIZATION TEAMS other than English!

One project I worked on put the time in to update the copyright year in the credits after they refused to put my name in when I asked several times.

Like you said in the P3P thread, It doesn't feel great when are you working on something you and others have passion for, but everything else really tests your limits or seeks to undermine you at a job.

I don't think I could handle doing something like that personally, but I hope that you have managed to get something good out of it.

Can someone please give me an accurate/truthful answer on WHY people who actually work on a game/movie/book are not credited? This makes absolutely zero sense and it seems like it should be illegal.

Funny enough google is giving me nothing concrete. Why are people not getting credited? I need a real answer.

Enjoying this wave of pushback on crediting issues in the industry, though it's sad that it's been happening for so long and to the detriment of a lot of talented hard working people.

Hopefully a change is on the horizon and BROADLY.

I think the usual "explanation" is that sometimes the credits are hardcoded in one version and they don't bother re-rendering the FMVs for another version to add additional names.

I manage a translation department at a mid size pharma company. 58k to manage relatively lower stakes work like a videogame isn't terrible or out of line with typical pay. I won't speak to the rest of what she said but it's a tough industry to work in given how so many companies undercut on price. Translation is effectively the opposite of the health industry.
