Marchal echoed Wertheim's comments, explaining that Sega Europe and Interior Night cut dies due to "strategic reasons" despite a good working relationship.

"It's been a pleasure to work with Sega and to have their support during the early days of the studio," Marchal explained. "Ultimately, we have amicably parted ways for strategic reasons. However, development on the game—an innovative narrative experience, aimed at a mature audience—is proceeding well. We will announce our new partnership in due course."

So what could these strategic reasons be? Might it be possible that it has to do with Epic Game Store? SEGA of EU has a strong connection to PC and it also has a strong attachment to Steam as well. This could somewhat be a similar situation to Dontnod Entertainment with Twin Mirror? What is the current status of SEGA EU and their output on consoles? I know that they are doing the Aliens Isolation game on N/S but is there something else(I was under the assumption that SEGA EU pushed console related stuff to outside companies that would handle those releases in EU)?

Bit of a leap to assume it's due to Epic without any other information.

Plausible, but there's hundreds of other potential explanations too.
