After that nightmare amount of tries of slaying that stupid ape in the Sunken Valley, i decided to head into ashina depths....only to find out I have to slay 2 apes again....luckily it only took me 2 tries to beat it.

Frankly the ape's first form is the most hardest because his very aggressive and hard to read his movements not to mention his stupid air grapple. His second form is easier because of using the sword so that means you can take your time deflecting it and getting the posture blow.

I hate the mini bosses surrounded by adds giving me flashbacks to dark souls 2.

Obviously not as bad but yeah, not a fan. Easy enough most of the time but I'm an impatient bastard so have died too many times to them.

I have officially given up. I can’t get past ginichiro. I have beaten everything there is until him. All mini bosses including *snip*. Basically all of them until him. My attack power is 4 and my health bar is stupid long.

I just cant beat him. Sometimes I get him a third down in his second form and sometimes I can’t get past his first life bar.
I’m out of spirit emblems and can’t be arsed to farm money. Even with all the tools like axe, crackers and umbrella I just can’t seem to beat him. I pretty much tried 4hrs straight and have given up and uninstalled it.

It’s the first game ever that has beaten me. I just haven’t got the time spending hours on one boss and rather focus on other games. Shame really as think i only had one area left with a few bosses (which I can’t even imagine how hard they must be). Strangely enough, all the bosses I beat before, where easy to medium to nearly hard:) but ginichiro has something to him that just doesn’t suit my style.

Respect to people who beat the game. I’m out of here *mic drop*
(haven't gotten to that boss yet myself but) you'll be back ;)

The story is way more engaging than Dark Souls, and From Software continues to pick excellent voices for their games... the voice acting in english is so good.

Can someone tell me when the points of no return are? I just returned to the castle after
the fountainhead palace
and want to go get some prosthetics I apparently missed in earlier parts of the game. I just don't want to accidentally trigger an end game scenario by doing so.

You're a little less than halfway through the game, actually. It's a tough fight, and one that requires very specific skills (parrying and reading enemy combos very accurately). Hope you can come back to it in the future and make more progress!

Are the fish scales only in the past? I’ve killed tons of fish after that and I don’t get anything.
Nope. You can find treasure carp in almost any large body of water in the game. However, some of the fish you run into are just regular carp and some of them are hostile fish. You specifically have to look at the color pattern on their scales - treasure carp are red and white, and they're the only ones who drop scales.

Depends on the conditions of what you did in game. Most players will be able to kill the final boss and still go back anywhere, but the game even after it ends doesn't auto start playthrough 2. It gives you a choice, if you pick no, you can explore and activate playthrough 2 whenever from main hub

Goddamn I can't stop thinking about this game, I really just wanna go home and play. I didn't think anything was gonna surpass RE2 or DMC for me this year, but....

I just unlocked shadowrush. Damn that's good, but I hate using spirit emblems when I dont need to so I'm still mainly sticking with Praying Strike exorcism for speed/style and ichimonji double for posture.

Those stupid fish are driving me nuts, I just cannot get up to what I need for an item I really want.

This is the strange thing. I know his move set inside out, get to counter with mirikri (or similar) and in the second bit the drop kick as he does the swing rather than stab. I even got to the second stage with 4 health flasks and a revive but that’s where I get my ass kicked. I use the eel liver, sugars etc. Going by my knowledge and items, this should be easy but it’s not. My gaming time is just too limited these days to be stuck on one boss.

What is it with third person action games and being infamous for having bad cameras.

I know this franchise has had complaints. So has Ninja Gaiden. And DMC. And God of War.

I guess there’s not much you can do with FoV when enemies rush you into a corner.

this run up to the
owl
fucking sucks, and its a shame because the game has actually been really good at putting spawn points right next to bosses.

this one feels like a Souls game in a bad way :/
Yeah, you are doing it wrong.

Back to basics, remember how you got the idols closer to that part before.

I'll be honest...most games have bad cameras. It's not really a problem specific to the genre as much as just you notice it way more in very action-heavy games because of the way their combat systems work.

I have five heals per spawn, and I can't even get
Corrupted Monk
down to a quarter health before I'm nearly depleted of them all.

I thought
O'Rin was supposed to be a parry check? Cause if she is it did fuck all in this fight
I wouldnt worry all that much about health. There are prosthetic tools that will help quite a bit here tho

Long Shadow fight

has to have one of the worst cameras in ages, it's actually impressive how shitty it is. The time I actually ended up beating, I almost got crushed twice because the camera detached from him after a wall jump and I got kicked in the back.

YOu don't need any spirit emblems.
You dont need to use an tools

This boss is like most enemies where if you just focus on parries it becomes a lot easier. Don't try to force too much. parry parry parry. Get the timings down. If you parry his thrust every time, he's not bad. Just focus on the basics.

"Iron Fortress" and boss in Depths question.

I just looted it cause the vendor was gone, was he killed by the "rat quest" NPC?

Does it play out differently if you kill the Ape that joins the fight before you kill the headless one? I was prepared to fight both but he gave up. :p

yeah I understand, the game expects a lot from you! If you have your defensive play down though what you're probably missing is not putting on enough pressure. he blocks a lot, which is easy posture damage, and a few of his attacks can be dodged and easily punished with damage to help his posture meter go down faster. If you do decide to go back to it, good luck!

Was doing all that and as I said if I focus, I get to the second phase with no issues and even plenty of health flasks left. It’s the second phase that’s the problem. I might come back to it in few months time. Just too busy outside gaming and the little time I have is occupied by the division 2 :)

Same, this is my first day at work since launch, and only now I'm really seeing just how much I'm enjoying the game, the wait hurts. I'm not doing anything but thinking about Sekiro.

No weakness. The hardest attack is the unblockable one which you can either run away or jump. Use hooks whenever you can, it can be used on two of the animations of the boss, and try and not be super aggressive.
When the boss is far away, always run to the left side, and always stick to the boss as much as you can. Make sure to have all the healing maxed, and hit the boss MAX three times unless you memorised all the moves.
Oh i beat him. I am just commenting that he is really the only boss that i don't think there is any real good trick to. You gotta grind him down

just entered this hidden village by this giant rope thingy
Go to the third important place in Travel, request rice, rest, go speak to the rejuvenating child. Keep repeating and you'll figure out the rest. Message if you get stuck or unsure, or just it didn't trigger

I have no idea what you mean and I'm honestly for the first time in this game I'm actually angry so cryptic messages arent helping. Not even
guardian ape
made me feel like this, and I died a lot on him. Also, I actually kinda got trolled and where I usually laugh it off, this just made me even more annoyed. I got
clipped by one of the ninjas in the rooftop as I was grappling, fell all the way down, jumped in a pool for safety and there was a headless underwater (!), I run from him, go down the snowy path looking for a buddha statue maybe and I run into another of those purple guys like the one in the well.
And then I turned the game off. I think I just cant deal with this today tbh, don't get me wrong im not quitting lol, but yeah I think just not today, certainly not right now, I'm too salty right now :3

Midgame Boss
Guardian Ape
is surprisingly easy when you get out of your sekiro head and just play it like it's dark souls. Super defensive, run away, wait for good openings. One boss more down.

Germany
As i said previously watching people play this game is rough lol.
Yep, I watch a German duo play the game (Rocket Beans) and it's hard to watch at times. They didn't really understand the resources aspect about your arm, they complain about enemy placement when there's an easy way to take em all out without triggering anyone else. They are only evading, never blocking... They don't understand that you can teleport from anywhere back to base or the most recent Budda.

And still - they have taken out the Ogre way faster than me, because they didn't give a shit about Resources, they found a shop in an early area that I missed and seem to find success in combat tactics without even understanding some of the basics or using moves they should know by now.

By the way - will the game become more horrific in it's art and visuals like the other From games? So far it's been mostly exaggerated humans as enemies
and the Snake as a set piece
, but I feel like there's big potential for other areas and bosses that are a lot more sinister.

What's the best way to deal with the enemies on the rooftops of Ashina Castle? I keep getting shredded by them.

You can enter the castle from a lower point, fight your way upwards to the dojo, fight a miniboss and you've unlocked a clear path right to him. You're having trouble because you're running up from the outside.
