Mmm Ninja Gaiden Black is a member of the Holy Trinity of action games.

Didn't think I could be more fucking hyped than I already was.

I want to get this, with Bloodborne being really only souls game I've played (and really enjoyed it). I just don't know if want to struggle trough this with it supposedly being the hardest of all the games.

I see no mentions of the story and characters in the quotes present in OP, that's weird i expected it to be covered more considering its a big change in the formula and one of the aspects i am most interested in.

I knew this was going to review well... why did I just buy Division 2? Lol

Giving your money to ubisoft and not FROM is a sin,so if you wanna be forgiven, you must have bought Sekiro by tomorrow

Oh fuck it, just went and bought Sekiro. Probably going to hate myself when I remember how awful I am at parries.

Yes right now you are awful, but in a few days you won't. Then you'll be thankful that you bought it

If you can abuse the stealth elements of the game I would not be surprised that large chunks of the game can be made easy doing so. It's actually been a fear of mine as it is an issue in so many games that feature stealth.
I imagine some enemies are made so you can't beat them without stealth, until you get more experience/upgrades

That's what it appears like and why I wasn't exactly stressing about this especially after the preview events but I know in a lot of games that feature stealth without being entirely about stealth often make a lot of really poor design choices that make the stealth aspect incredibly OP.

Tempted but i bounced off bloodborne as I couldn't click with the combat (loved the atmosphere though). Loved demons and dark souls. Love the style of this but not sure on the combat

Sekiro is less frustrating. There are no hidden enemies, no traps, there's a checkpoint at every corner, you don't lose everything when dying, you can resurrect yourself, you don't die when falling, you can sneak your way through, strong attacks are announced by a danger sign, etc.

But the actual combat is much harder in my opinion.

Beautiful Province of Quebec.
Is this harder than souls or bloodbourne ?

It looks amazing but my blood pressure can't take the rage

Sounds like it...I read some people saying it took them 2 hours of dying and retrying to defeat a Boss...I dont have patience for games like this anymore but my nephew bought it on PS4 and will give it a shot once he is done but I probably wont get far lol...

I see its still below the masterpiece that is Dark Souls 2, but really, what game can surpass it? All is well in the world

why are so many 'reviews in progress'?...when were they sent the game?...I thought they would have had enough time to finish or at least get close to the end

I still haven't spoiled myself by reading any reviews, just seeing the numbers is encouraging enough. I've always viewed From's (amazing) games as action games lying about being RPGs. The fact that Sekiro is just going full action with all sorts of new traversal and combat mechanics while keeping the things that I actually enjoy about the Souls/BB games (level design, lore building, cryptic storytelling, how the NPC quests work, the hidden areas, etc) and in a setting I enjoy much more than Bloodborne's Victorian theme..... my hype is set at a 10/10.

Yeah, but they are nerve wracking, you need to be perfect with your deflects.

it sounds like I'd love the game except for the bosses which would drive me crazy :-/ I'll probably wait for a sale or rent it from Redbox (I do have a free one-night rental from T-Mobile)

Just so you know, it was a joke. Also, they are edgy in their review. It's not a bad thing, it's just their thing.

Edge are one of the few gaming outlets left that actually produce great videogame journalism (from previews to studio focused articles to opinion pieces, outside of their reviews) and they've been doing it for 25+ years. In the current industry full of four paragraph reviews and clickbait Youtube videos, put some respect on their name.
