In response to accusations from tabloids that Bert and Ernie were written as gay characters (and the previous threads on that were locked as a result, but a legit response is newsworthy).
I had nightmares about the Cookie Monster as a kid. He would tickle me to death. Then one day, I dreamed that I killed him in my grandma's basement and I never had another nightmare about him again. As a kid Bert an Ernie scared me, mainly because of the eye brows.

Miss Piggy was, as far as I know, not a Sesame Street character. There's confusion because of Kermit's double role on The Muppets and Sesame Street, but I don't think the Miss Piggy/Kermit relationship is ever discussed on Sesame Street.
don't they, like, sleep in the same bed? And aren't there other straight puppets in the sesame street universe who date?
They share the same bedroom but I think they have their own beds; that's what a quick Google search showed at least.don't they, like, sleep in the same bed? And aren't there other straight puppets in the sesame street universe who date?

I'm not too deep into the Sesame Street lore but from the six months I watched with my daughter I don't recall any of the puppets dating.

So, Kermit exists in both the Muppets-verse and Sesame Street-verse? Or, are his Sesame Street appearances non-canon?Miss Piggy was, as far as I know, not a Sesame Street character. They don't fuck, though. You think a gorgeous, sensual, vivacious puppet like Clementine is going to fuck some raggedy ginger Yosemite Sam moustache-wearing hillbilly?Forgetful Jones is a cowboy character on sesame street:
Clementine is his girlfriend, and is referred to as such:
Regardless, it's a moot point, as Sesame Workshop hasn't had anything to do with the Muppets in well over a decade. The Muppets are owned by Disney.

It's actually really sweet, because the writer who confirmed it is basically like "yeah their relationship was based on my own relationship with my partner". Even if shipping isn't your thing, it's a beautiful thing of self expression imo.
So it's fucked up that someone else felt the need to stamp on it like this.
