Not surprised given all the rumors and talks about her behavior. But also, WHY THE FUCK WAS INFILTRATION ALLOWED BACK?
All of these creeps need to be perma banned from all of these events.
Because the Panda global investigation showed that some of the original allegations were exaggerated or not entirely true, a lot of the fgc thinks he was "framed"

But, like, he still screamed at his wife and grabbed her wrists to stop her from walking away. That's still abuse.

Yup. People going in on FGC as if other e-sports isn't rife with similar issues...shit, forget about esports, sexism is rife in SPORTS, full stop.

The problem is that you're dealing with an environment that's self-policing with a demographic that skewers overwhelmingly to young male as far as participants and organizers, and still pretty underground so things like this are allowed to fester.

What's funny about her excuse is I find it believable; I can imagine someone told that all the harassment they faced is just par on course for being a member of the boys club, and continuing that abuse along.

As someone who dips my toes in and out, in the past ten years the scene has matured much, but it's got a long way to go. Society in general
I wouldn't give her that out. I see no reason to believe that she wouldn't be a predator even if she never played a single fighting game. The people in the FGC I've personally interacted with don't display this behavior at all. There's nothing about playing Street Fighter that turns you into a garbage human being.

If anything, she relies on the fact that women are typically more likely to avoid direct confrontation. But they're clearly no longer willing to carry her water.

I think the big difference with infiltration case is that as far as I know it did not happen at an event. With the Gllty and Chris Bahn thing their action mostly took place at fgc events. I think thats the reason he hasnt been ban from any event. Atm infil is only banned from competing in CPT and capcom related event for 2019.

Half year? The only difference is there's less porn now.

The porn ban was a big shift though. People disliked how whats his face moderated the sub and people posted porn in protest and got banned or many just stopped posting. The dislike lead to the r/kappa sponsorships stopping and you can tell that there has been a shift in the userbase over time

Infiltration was only banned from Capcom's CPT events. He entered EVO and didn't play SFV. Capcom does not control EVO.

While this is true, the community has to take responsibility for the patterned asshole behavior that it allows.

The community is made up of various different individuals, groups and organizations though, all with different view points, and opinions on these subjects. We are on a gaming forum. We are part of the "gaming community", but are you or I responsible for the countless number of trash individuals or groups in the "gaming community"?

No, but unlike that large nebulous thing, the fighting game has actual tangible tournoments and gatherings. These things are televised. Maybe uh, they can be responsible there.

Instead of you know letting infiltration. Maybe things like that, maybe people think bad things are ok. And it starts there. Also you know even if you aren't a TO , if you see weird bullshit in the community call it out and foster a better community by making it clear that shit ain't welcome.

So you know you can do things instead of saying " ain't my fault " giving up and sticking your head in the ground like a ostritch

Remember Aris? What responsibility did the community take then? His sexual harassment was captured live on stream. It went on for hours. Capcom didn't even fire him from the show.

At this point it's looking like the FGC is a den of scumbags. Watch how a bunch of people will rush to defend this guy now.

Of course you can and should do things. And yes, I agree that Inflitration should not be allowed into EVO, but the onus of that falls on EVO, not "the FGC".

Put the onus, and the pressure, on the actual organizations that have the ability to make these kinds of decisions, whether thats Capcom or EVO or tourney organizers or whatever. Saying it's an "FGC problem" just lets them off the hook.

We are. Our participation, dollars, and engagement are low level ways you and I can enforce accountability, but these low level actions can sway the decisions of the institutional forces within the FGC (forum moderators, developers, TOs, etc).

It's legit despicable that he's been allowed to continue to thrive in the community after that. People will say that you can't stop the monsters from following his channel and streams, and you can't, but we could have put pressure on Bamco and tourneys to not give him a platform. We failed on that front.

The FGC is a group of individuals connected by thier love of fight games yes, there are tagible, valuable points of attack on things like these and these are gathering and events. Yes technically these event organizers are not all of the FGC, but they can influence what is happening with in because they litterally have the means in which people gather and they can set the rules of what is and what is not generally ok in these spaces and that can inlfuence people and be reflected back in how they handle themselves in general. So yes it is " On the FGC"

I remember this very well. It's why it always baffles me when people are praising him and his "veteran" status. Dude's a real scumbag, among the worst.

Seems like allegations have been made against Floe as well but he claims innocence and has lawyered up.

If the allegations are true then that's a big blow to the FGC as Floe was a prominent member for quite some time (among Justin and friends). Mr Wiz needs to get ahead of this but he didn't seem to give a shit about Infiltration's past and let him compete at EVO. Good to see that other tournament organizers have taken swift action to ban Gllty already.

jesus whats the deal with alot of these FGC cats being fucking sleazy and drugging girls? And FGC just gonna turn a blind eye to some of this? Her response is probably about as good as you could come up with I guess but infiltration being let right back in and the sick shit floe pulled is just a bit beyond too much.

A few weeks ago I made a post talking about how not all anime/anime fans treat women or the LGBTQ+ with disdain and I was rightfully called out for NotAllAnimeFans defense. Your post is basically doing the same thing I did, and I would encourage you to think about it. When a pattern of constant abuse from prominent members in the FGC continues to come to light, at a certain point it does become a situation where it invests the whole community. While obviously not all the FGC behaves like Gllty and others, the fact that this kind of thing continues popping up week after week means that the ENTIRE community needs to look at what has allowed this kind of behavior to continue with practically no consequences.

Ok, is there anywhere where I can catch up on the accusations against Floe?

This is extremely disappointing.

Im not saying people shouldn't be held accountable, I'm saying the pressure needs to be put on the people in positions of power within the community. Infiltration being allowed to compete at EVO doesn't mean "the FGC is trash", it means EVO needs to be pressured to not let shit like that happen.

I think it's fair to bring that up.

I think it would help to put it in the context of how Miranda feels about it now.

I'm not saying forgive and forget. You can feel dissatisfied about him being involved with Namco Bandai stuff and having a big audience that pay him a significant amount of money but for the sake of this conversation it might help to mention that Miranda is seemingly over what happened back then.

-edit-

Adding another tweet from Miranda that should hopefully settle some of this:

We should probably get a separate thread up for the accusations against Floe - I just can't see them having the space to be aired out as they should. This thread should focus on gllty's actions.

Not really. He's become more of a streamer than a commentator in recent years, so he's more isolated than before, but it's still the same dude who never took responsibility for his harassment.

He apologized and both him and the person in question have moved on from this since it was 7 years ago. You're free to think that's not enough, but he did apologize and make amends with her, no reason to lie on that front.

I'm glad to know he apologized to, but aside from being removed from Cross Assault he suffered zero consequences and he's still pretty toxic to this day.
I've been dogpiled on this very forum for pointing this out. I'm not saying he should have no role in community or be chased out, but the fact that he's the face of Tekken top 8 every year is embarrassing. Regardless of how he personally may or may not have evolved, his fanbase is toxic and having him up there emboldens the worst elements of the community.

Can I just get clarification if Aris did apologize publicly? I know he did to Miranda, but a private apology to someone is a different thing from that even though I do think he has changed.

Ya from what I heard she's on good terms with him. It was really inappropriate, but he did follow through with apologies and has not repeated the same mistake since. I'd say it's also a lot less creepy than some of the stuff being reported in this thread.
