I'm innocent but I need to talk to my legal team

If someone accuses you of something you didn't do that could irrevocably affect your life negatively in the public space, then ya you tend to get into court action to stop it if the other party won't drop it on their own accord.

Not saying Floe didn't do it, but legit just put yourself in a similar place where you get accused of X really bad thing (murder, pedophilia, sexual assault/rape, WHATEVER) publicly by someone, you're going to lawyer up if you are smart.

Legal representation is not an admission of guilt.

The floe stuff is going to be a goddamn mess. The accuser's original post is really weird (she stated she knew/had a history with floe and one of the other people accused but then drew pencil sketches of them for some reason?), they've since deleted it and there are several posts from folks on various social media/forums (some reliable, some....less so) stating that person has had a history of telling different stories/mental health issues etc. One example from a known FGC person here (you can see multiple FGC big names follow this person and it's on Twitter so I think it's okay to post it here):

The lawyering up thing could mean anything IMO; streaming is floe's only income AFAIK, and if he IS innocent and has the means he could be doing that to try to clear his name as much/as quick as possible, I can't say that I wouldn't do the same thing. On the other hand could obviously mean he's guilty as fuck. He didn't immediately come out and say he wasn't there/drunk with her etc, and there ARE tweets with videos of him and Rom obviously drunk/blazed that weekend at the casino, so I have a feeling this may become a he said/she said situation with whatever happened in the room. That said the accuser also tagged two people she says she knows who were witnesses who saw the accused trying to get her out of the bar/party and one of those two people is an Evo production team member, so if this is true at least some of this should be able to get backed up pretty quickly.

What a mess.

The Floe thing seems to be way too much of an actively developing situation for anyone to be drawing conclusions.

Holy shit that's the guy from The Next Level O_o
I knew him decades ago, had no idea he was a piece of shit creep. That feels so weird. But it was so long ago, maybe there were signs I just didn't notice at the time.
I worked with Chris for a little while on another (now defunct) video game website.

At the time, the worst I ever thought about him was that he was difficult to work with. I seriously was not expecting this.

The Floe thing could get very nasty, as he is extremely well liked in the US FGC. 🤔 The allegation vs him is developing anyway. The woman with the allegation probably should be heading to the police given that's such a severe allegation.

I'm glad the London FGC are sound people...

Don't be cute about that "translate this into proper English" shit now.
A Google search would've taken less time than hitting send on that post

Wtf is this?
I'm from Italy, my first reaction reading that was to ask people what was the meaning behind that tweet, just like that other poster did. It was clearly something bad, but I was curious to understand the exact meaning (just call it lingo curiosity). Saying you should just google it is such a dismissive answer, you can google every fucking questions in every fucking thread you know? It was such an innocent question and you guys jumped on him for no reason (or maybe I'm missing something).

You guys are assholes. This board has some unbelievable toxicity.

While Aris changed and his victim moved on and forgave him, isn't he still responsible for his toxic community?

That girl on Twitter that you are quoting was one of the victims who spoke out against Chris Bahn I think.

'This is going to get really messy

Thank y'all!

That text conversation is frustrating to read, not only because it's gross, but because it kind of reminds me of conversations I've had with someone I know about the FGC. I try to point out these issues as examples of a problematic environment and it's almost always met with "not everybody" and "it's always gonna happen"

It is frustrating. Why is it always that kind of response and never, "we need to do better by each other?"

Nah, that tweet chain is about the floe thing and has screenshots of one of floe's tweets plus a partial screenshot of a followup from the accuser. Unless you mean she was also separately involved in the Bahn thing, no idea about that.

It's time to clean house. Can't believe nothing happened to Chris G, no one called him out about his racism. His apology was half-assed

I feel we should wait on official word before making hard accusations on the Floe topic, this is a messy situation.

Please tell me JWong isn't still rooming with Floe and J is still a good dude.

Saying to translate it into "proper" English is my guess. Tampa Bison is a black guy, phrasing something in a way that a black person may phrase it, and the phrase being called improper English. Not a good look.

I thought so too when first reading about this, but according to some people here and elsewhere she has been doing this shit for a while now, including to some of the marginalized people.
always a predator somewhere. it just fucking blows.

at least my last remaining hero, LeVar Burton, is still perfect in every way and I can continue to look up to him

Let's take a look at his apology.

When he was first confronted about it, he doubled down.

Giant Bomb's Patrick Klepek has posted a thorough story on the matter. Included in the story is a transcript of Bakhtanians from one one of the episodes. His response when asked, "Can I get my Street Fighter without sexual harassment?":

Later, when asked about whether shouting "Rape that bitch!" at a match is acceptable behavior, Bakhtanians replied, "Look, man. What is unacceptable about that?
There's nothing unacceptable about that. These are people, we're in America, man, this isn't North Korea. We can say what we want. People get emotional."

When it kept blowing up, he finally threw up an "apology", with classic "sorry I offended anyone" bits.

Look how he totally avoids the sexual harassment issue. He's not apologizing for that. He's apologizing for doubling down on excusing his scumbag behavior. Genuinely good on Superyan for moving on and forgiving, but this guy received zero consequences at the time and is now a major figure in the FGC. If anything his antics raised his profile and popularity. Like others have said, the kind of community he engenders is 4chan/Kappa-tier trash people. That's the kind of viewer he caters to. Toxic shitheads. So frankly that tells me more about what kind of person he is and what kind of growing up he has done. Fucking fed up of people excusing what he did.
Good post, notice how the people defending him in this thread never replied to it. For years this narrative of him having changed and this other shit have been push even by big fgc members on here like Beef.

This thread is really a bummer, it sucks so much this shit is happening. Hoping all the people abused/harassed/etc are doing ok.
People need to be called out of this behaviour and held accountable. it is never ok regardless of circumstances.

That shit was from 7 years ago. What's that got to do with now?

The person he said the stuff to has forgiven him and says he has changed. What bad has he done since then? Like what the fuck do you want him to do? Jesus Christ some of you...

He's still a friend/supporter of convicted wife-beater Infiltration:

so, no.

Not really. He's become more of a streamer than a commentator in recent years, so he's more isolated than before, but it's still the same dude who never took responsibility for his harassment.

This is false.

He actually was interviewed on some esports podcast a year or two ago and it was the first time that he went in depth on the topic since his initial apology. I just can't remember the name of the channel for the life of me. Hopefully someone else does.

Even without that context though, as someone that has followed his streams since even before that incident, he has clearly shown growth. He definitely still has problematic aspects, but he also is quick to verbally shut down a lot of people that try to be funny with their wack jokes in the chat and through his donations. I honestly think a lot of those weird mother fuckers just get off on him roasting them for their shitty behavior.

I'm not gonna say that anyone must forgive him for that incident. That's your own prerogative. But I will say that claiming that he never apologized, or that he never learned from his mistakes and improved his behavior is simply false.

Floe was in a red mobility scooter at Evo. I would think it would be hard to miss a fat white guy in a red scooter taking a tiny asian chick out of the casino.

Look, I have never met Floe in person, but I've been watching him stream, and yes, subbing to his twitch, for years now. He's a sensitive guy. When someone comes in and shits on his stream, or complains about what he's doing, it definitely hurts him - He'll be in a sad/depressed mood for like, 45 minutes.

*Generally, people with the kind of sensitivity and empathy that Floe exhibits aren't fucking abusers.*

Those of you acting like lawyering up is an admission of guilt (Lopez): Fucking shame on you. These are VERY serious allegations to be making against someone, especially someone whose livelihood depends on individual contributions from others.

I'll eat my words if I'm wrong, but I'm absolutely certain the man is innocent.

Irony of ironies, Gllty is on the podcast as well.
