Julie Chen is married to Les Moonves, which makes the whole thing even more nuts. Not surprising that she's a disgusting person, I guess, but definitely crazy that she got away with it for this long. When you can be racist to the CEO's wife and still have a job, that's pretty telling.
Sharon Osbourne is a terrible person which, I assume, surprises nobody. I recall a couple of years ago when she was on 'Would I Lie To You?' and told a story about firing her assistant that was so horrific I think everybody just assumed it was untrue.

I've run into so many of these kind of people in my life. My boss from a few years ago thought he was so hilarious cause he called our Korean coworker Jackie Chan (the fact that Jackie Chan is not Korean is "part of the joke), and had just all around horrible shit like that. Every few years he gets called to HR but the guy brings in so much money (his customers like this about him) he gets by.

I vaguely remember that comment having a more divided reaction at time. Some people felt it rang true in the sense that employers often do capitalize on illegal immigration for cheap labour in unskilled positions; some people commented that it reflected the positions that were actually available to illegal immigrants regardless of things like education.
Even for legal immigration, post-secondary education being recognized is up to the country you emigrate to.

Julie Chens' spouse could have easily got her canned from the talk, he still has enough pull at CBS to probably get her canned now... and Gilbert wasn't powerless on the show in the least.
I don't really get this story, its not like she was messing with two women who were powerless to have her yanked/ruined. while i wouldn't be surprised if it were all true, im a little curious given the people she was dealing with yielded more power. It would be interesting to have them speak on it, especially Chen given her role at CBS.
