The mainstream consumer just got off a year with God of War, Spiderman, and Detroit. Xbox has yet to deliver any thing close to even one of those games this gen.
I'd point out that Ori, FH3 & FH4 have higher metacritic ratings than Detroit and Spiderman, but I know you already know that.
There is no both sides here. One company is delivering on quality AAA Class leading games. The other is developing a cult around an executive, studio purchases, and blind faith that a good game will eventually hit.
