This is the definition of anachronism. It's going to bomb so hard. But god, for a Shenmue fan, it looks like everything you ever wanted. I'm sure I will enjoy it.

This looks very bad. The whole game looks about as exciting as that turtle race.

There's a reason the game has a cult following but was quietly retired after a second entry. People who want a life simulator play Animal Crossing; people who want martial arts intrigue play, fuck, I dunno, one of those Street Fighter games

I know a lot of people aren't gonna be interested in the game, but for us fans, this is very exciting.

Still hard to believe that this is mere months away.

It's running on what was in development as Dreamcast 2, a console somewhat more powerful than the original XBOX, but not as powerful as he Xbox 360.

:D

It's what Shenmue III was always going to be.

;)

Dear lord, it's like it didn't evolve a single bit since the Dreamcast, it looks so damn boring.

Am I the only one who barely played any minigames in the first Shenmues? Just those necessary to advance/make money, and some arcade games for the novelty of the "games within a game" thing.

I love Shenmue for the world building, detailed environments and the classic hero's kung fu journey in a somewhat modern-ish setting.

Playing minigames in some Chinese backwater bumfuck town ain't what I'm here for.

I guess this is one of those game where you have to feel the nostalgia to appreciate it? Because it looks straight up terrible to me, like really, really terrible.

This looks dated. It is cool for those that enjoy what they see though :)

I just think of those media types who were jumping for joy, when this was announced, and juxtapose that reaction to what we are seeing right now...

The lack of music certainly doesn't help make it feel exciting.

I mean I tried them out, but I wasn't obsessed. Lucky Hit I probably played the most cuz it was a 'job.' I doubt they'll be much more necessary in this game, though it sounds like buying merchandise and clothing will matter this time around.

Y'all asked for Shenmue. You get Shenmue.

You didn't ask for a Shenmue that evolved over the past 20 years. Should have asked for that to be included in the description.

Can't believe they have a gameplay video with no music. The music really makes Shenmue. Looks amazing so far, literally everything Shenmue is. Can't wait!

I'll give a pass to the lip syncing bc it was natively developed in another language than English. I was unfair.

I have not closely followed the game, but isn't that the first longer gameplay we've seen? Why would they just show off these mini games? It's super boring after a while. I gave up after 6 minutes. :/
