That's the spirit :)No problem! I will always support workers who risk their jobs to try and make a change for themselves and others.
Amazon have got away for too long treating their employees like shit so I hope we start seeing some changes in the near future or I will keep using them less and less.
Yeah, stupid Americans.Whenever materialism/consumerism is involved, Americans develop such an entitled attitude lol. See: The Hollow Knight mexican eshop thread
"Nope! I need this pointless product TODAYYYYYYY!!!"
That's the spirit :)
I didn't know the administrators were using AWS. Maybe they should reconsider? Who is responsible for hosting here? The irony that your request is posted on a website hosted by Amazon.
What should I use instead? I’ve been looking for a permanent alternative
I doubt they are going to switch as that would be a major effort to move to a lesser product. Try one of the admins.I didn't know the administrators were using AWS. Maybe they should reconsider? Who is responsible for hosting here?
Depends on where you live and the item you're wanting, but your best bet is to use different marketplaces or dedicated websites based on the product. What should I use instead? I’ve been looking for a permanent alternative
Damn, thanks for the heads up. I cancelled the audiobook portion of my order and used the cash I saved to get some nice coffee from a Whole Foods nearby.
I think people at the grocery stores do everything here. But an amazon person might deliver it.
Striking back at Amazon by killing your savings seems bad.I think people at the grocery stores do everything here. But an amazon person might deliver it.
I could just eat restaurant food all week or give the delivery person a huge tip
That would be a ridiculous request.I didn't know the administrators were using AWS. Maybe they should reconsider? Who is responsible for hosting here?
I see what you did there.Damn, thanks for the heads up. I cancelled the audiobook portion of my order and used the cash I saved to get some nice coffee from a Whole Foods nearby.
???
That I did not know. Interesting!Cloudflare is a CDN. It doesn't mean that the servers aren't hosted on AWS, just that the DNS is pointed that way so that a large portion of the site is offloaded to Cloudflare.
Well said actually. HAHA.Does it make sense to strike & boycott at the same time? The pain a boycott inflicts is lack of revenue in the presence of paid workers. The pain of a strike is the inability to fulfill orders.
Combine both and all you've given is a free warehouse maintenance window. Makes sense to rack up orders during a strike, then cancel due to non-delivery because the workers aren't there.
Ehhh I don't use Amazon to save money. I just like the convenience. Normally we'd eat at restaurants all of the time but we're in the US for the summer and everything is so spread out.
But they're affiliated with whole foods
This is sarcasm, right?Damn, thanks for the heads up. I cancelled the audiobook portion of my order and used the cash I saved to get some nice coffee from a Whole Foods nearby.
Whole Foods was included in the list of things not to do, yes.
Ah my bad. The way it was structured made it weird.Whole Foods was included in the list of things not to do, yes.
lmao.Damn, thanks for the heads up. I cancelled the audiobook portion of my order and used the cash I saved to get some nice coffee from a Whole Foods nearby.
The original post listed The Book Depository and AbeBooks as well, so it's obviously a joke. I wonder how many people will actually try and follow this boycott by buying from them though, their websites definitely don't make it obvious that they are owned by Amazon.
Perhaps a sense of superiority will expand to take its place. But I have to mindlessly consume, what else will fill the void in my soul?
RIP Resetera, created because of protests, destroyed by them
