Just knowing we have all these games in development - both old and new IP - at all those Sony studios, that we're yet to hear about. The next 12 months is going to be so hype.

TLOU2 release date or PS Meeting date. Which would you rather know right now
PlayStation Meeting if it is in February 2020 or later.

Not necessarily an official announcement, but I would be happy if an insider said "be cool man. Of course they won't do their PlayStation Meeting in 2019 and of course, The Last of Us Part II and Ghost of Tsushima will be released months before PlayStation 5. Oh and PlayStation 5 will launch at 399$/€."

I don't think we're getting a PS Meeting in February. Why would Sony follow the same approach beat for beat. That would make it easy to predict. Sony tend to say 1 thing and then a month later announce ps meeting.

Sony just gonna drop a Monday Night Tweet about PS5 with specs and a photo. Who needs conferences and media events?

I do. Give me something Sony.

Give me that panning shot of Boletaria running on PS5 by Bluepoint.

My prediction is that we will heard more about the PS5 officially this year.
Maybe not in a conference, probably just Cerny talking about it.

I think it's obvious. The PS5 will be unveiled by Sony's new gaming mascot, Keanu Reeves! I'm sure he dropped by KojiPro after his meeting at Sony HQ across the street 😉

On another note, I'm still quite interested in how Playstation Productions will play out and if their projects will be mentioned at gaming conferences. They're working on the Uncharted movie and Twisted Metal TV show, plus who knows what else.

Does anyone have HQ downloads of the PGW trailer and E3 gameplay for TLOU2 in here? I asked in the other thread... I deleted them long ago and they are no longer on gamersyde

All the videos are still on Gamersyde. Make sure you are logged in and you'll be able to access our archive server.

Interesting that both interviews will be aired in October. Usually it's just one per month/magazine issue. Although I haven't been following GI for long enough to know if they've done more than one a month before.

Am i crazy for wanting it to be just like the PS4 reveal. An event that announces PS5, showing the controller. Console reveal at E3 and Shu sitting on the stage by himself again showing the UI at Gamescom.

When was the last time we had an update for WiLD? I have far less faith.

Last time was on April 29th ;)

Interview on French Site

We learn for example that 35 people are currently working on it, with a goal of 50 in total. A small team so that is more like a production of indie game and not AAA as one might think. The article also makes it clear that the partnership with Sony is not in danger and that Sony seems to have renewed its trust with Rayman's father.

"With Sony, we have an agreement called "second party"..."

What must also be remembered from La Tribune's paper is that the expenses today amount to 300 000 € per month, especially with the installation of the team in new premises of 650 m², allowing to welcome different teams (sound design, graphic designers, programmers, special effects specialists) or production.

The PS4 is no longer the console that is mentioned for the project, since we are now talking about Sony consoles, which means that there is a good chance that Wild is available at the launch of the PS5 in 2020 , with an exit in doubt planned on two generations of consoles.

This spring, Wild Sheep Studio gave an interview for a local french newspaper covering studio's activities, and confirmed Wild development and the second-party deal they have with Sony. They are also recruiting.

Not much in that article, but I did a quick translation in case someone was looking to read it.

They're the only french indie video game studio to obtain such a deal with Sony. Wild Sheep Studio, founded notably by Michel Ancel, is working on its first game, Wild, in their new 600 square feet studio.

It's in the neighboorhood of Les Aubes that Wild Sheep Studio are now based. A 650 square feet house across several floors hosting 35 employees. The location wasn't choose at random since they were previously occupied by Ubisoft for several years when the Montpellier satellite site was created by Ancel in 1992.

For the six cofonders of Widl Sheep Studio, which five of them were at some point at Ubisoft, it's a homecoming of sorts and an opportunity. The new office will host the growth of the independant studio funded in 2014 with the development of their first game named "Wild" exclusively for Sony.

"With Sony, we have what we call a "second party" aggreement explains Céline Tellier, co fonder and president of Wild Sheep Studio. The multinational doesn't hold any shares in the company but are footing the bill for development costs thanks to contracts updated regularly, based on the advancements steps of the project. It's important to make the distinction with "first party" aggreement, which is the purchase of an independant studio or with a "third party" aggreement which grants a temporary exclusivity."

Wild will be only available on Sony's consoles and is destined to innovate in the creative and artistic department. It's that originality who seduced the Japanese company.

"Betting on creative projects is a part of an publisher's strategie, explains Céline Tellier. It's a risk, especially with game profitability can heavily vary, with marketing costs sometimes equals to development costs."

These costs, are estimated at 300k euros per months for Wild Sheep Studio to function. Even with Wild release date not being defined yet, the growth of the company continues with the installation of new offices which can host the differentes teams or the production.

Recruiting specific high profiles

Wild Sheep Studio should quickly grow to reach 50 employees and is looking to attract talents of the industry? These senior profiles with more than 5 years experience or with a released game under their belt are hard to come by and highly sought after. But Wild Sheep Studio expects to attract them to Montpellier thanks to the hype around Wild's creation.

The company is going to recruit on 4 important positions in programmation, gameplay, tools and graphics. In order to oversee the inherent tasks of this recruitement campagn and to sustein growth, Wild Sheep Studio is also looking for a HR position.

Actually have you noticed how complicated geometry used in the game? Sam's walking animations are varied and depend on the type of the ground. During Gamescom gameplay it is seen when he crosses rocky part of the land. Also E3 2018 trailer shows the same idea.
Yeah I did notice his walking animations changed depending on the ground. Not sure if tat will really affect gameplay though or just a visual thing.

so, that FF7 trailer is pretty incredible.

can we talk on the absolutely mad exclusive lineup that is coming?

Death Stranding in November (confirmed)
Nioh 2 in January (rumored to release early 2020 according to zhuge, and i dont think they will launch in February or March because of other games, should be getting the date in a few days anyway)
The Last of Us Part II in February (rumored by Zhuge and Jason)
Final Fantasy VII Remake in March (confirmed)
Ghost of Tsushima in May (speculation, Jason said that the game is targeting H1 2020, and i dont think they will launch in April with Cyberpunk 2077)

This is all in 6~7 months!

EDIT:
also Dreams full release is scheduled for early 2020!

An exciting and rare opportunity to join an ambitious new studio to create original games exclusively for PlayStation's VR platform.
Based in Manchester in the North West of England, we are a small highly experienced team who want to build great games to showcase this exciting new technology.

Based in Manchester in the North West of England, we aim to build an experienced team to create AAA Virtual Reality games.

Experience with UE4 would be an advantage.

You forgot the full release of Dreams. At this point I honestly feel like it would be best to launch Ghost of Tsushima in September or make it a cross-gen title. 1st half of 2020 is overcrowded.

That's indeed one hell of a lineup. I can't even remember the last time I considered buying so many games in such a short span of time.
