Arts & Crafts + knitting beating Happy Haunts is totally representative of the Sims community. Knitting is fine... but a stuff pack that revolves around it is going to be awful. Everything will be ugly sweaters, ugly hats, ugly wall hangings.

I never voted back when they did this before, but the other options back then were waaaaay better than laundry. If they ever do this again we'll end up with Dusting Stuff or something equally dull.

Psychic and Ghost Hunter jobs would have been amazing for magical Sims. But no. We get knitting.

Based on this thread I purchased sims for 10 bucks on Xbox. I'm sure it isn't close to the full experience, but I enjoyed the original sims so how bad can it be? It'll be cool to revisit the series. We'll see how it goes.

Whatever happens I won't hold the op responsible.

Console version is actually identical to the PC one, except for mods and the Gallery of user created content.

Knitting winning the user poll is pretty much on-brand for the Sims audience. I look forward to it being put on the pile of "Things that they think they want but don't actually want" right beside the Laundry game pack.

I think knitting is a sign that people desperately want stuff for Elders. But that calls for a Generations pack, not a pack specifically for... knitting.

The Laundry Stuff Pack is the highest selling stuff pack for the Sims 4, so you know, the audience really did want that.

Laundry is super loved tho and sold like crazy. I think we Era simmers are pretty disconnected from the wider audience that play for the realism. I know more people that skip everything supernatural than I know people that like that stuff.
Haunts would be a big no for them while knitting and the other stuff in that pack would be perfect.

Is playing on the PS4 actually a good experience? I want to try the EA Access version, I played a lot The Sims 2 back in the day, but I only have a Macbook Air

It can't be that surprising? It was the first community voted pack, it won by a large margin and it had been a requested feature for years, and there was a lot of people that liked it from Sims 3 too. While the pack does have really nice items as well, laundry is a very popular feature in the Sims Community, and has been for a long time. It satisfy's both the realist crowd plus the crowd that likes making their gameplay a bit harder with another thing to keep track of.

I thought laundry was a good idea when I bought it... But it just has a negative impact on my Sims lives. Their clothes are damp, their house catches on fire, the washer breaks constantly, your sim gathers laundry and loads the washer one hamper at a time which takes 4 hours... It's worse than real laundry.

Yep, I'm one of those people haha. I love anything that adds more day to day realism in the game and generally don't like any of the supernatural stuff, that stuff just generally bores me. :/

The laundry pack adds difficulty, which is something people were clamouring for. It also makes maids more important.

Sims 4 Discover University is up for bundling again meaning you can get it, a game pack, and a stuff pack for $50.

Just got DU for $28, Realm of Magic for $14, and, Laundry Day for $7.

Last big Sims announcement of 2019 in four hours.

Is it possible to top Baby Yoda though????
In all seriousness, I wonder what it will be. They've added recently quite a lot of build mode improvements for free, it's probably more of a gameplays turn and I have heard a rumour about improved babies 🧐

I don't think they are going to announce a new pack this close to Christmas, especially when it would likely come out in February but could be wrong.

Maybe Sims 5, finally? Back to open worldness?
Fully multi-threaded and 64-bit compatible?
I can only hope.

Pretty disappointing. They just showed the possible themes to vote on for the upcoming stuff pack (I expect the worst) and the Gallery is coming to the console versions. And something about mobile but I muted that part.

Gallery coming to the consoles is huge though. It's going to make a lot of people happy.

The console gallery is a funny announcement because it means the world to console gamers and nothing to PC gamers.

It's big news though. Have any of you played on console? Playing without the gallery is atrocious. You have to use Maxis lots and there's never enough to fill all of the worlds.

They announced a new gallery that's cross platform is coming to both PC and console in 2020. That's a bit bigger than just console gallery.

Wow, never realised the console versions didn't have the gallery. That's a huge addition for those versions.

It sounds like they've been working on this for ages. I wonder what the console team can work on once their time is freed up?

I'm guessing a Switch version. It would need a lot of graphical compromises, but at 720p? You can run The Sims 4 on your fridge at 720p.

Official Site

I'm excited for this! I never build big houses, so it's perfect for me. Oddly, I've been watching the "Big Life, Tiny Home" Youtube channel obsessively the past few days.

finally a stuff pack that isnt weirdly themed and would actually benefit gameplay in a bigger way than just new skill or more busywork

Finally an actual surprise. The Sims 4 related stuff has been so easily leaked recently it's even weird to see a sudden announcement like this. Seems like an interesting pack!

Based on the items and clothes in that trailer this will easily be my fav Stuff Pack.
I adore small homes and this is gonna make it so much easier to find good ones in the gallery!

Two packs in a row that aren't zany supernatural bullshit and are actually good? Can it be true?

I was not expecting a pack this soon. Maxis just got back from vacation and everything.

I think this might be a really good year for The Sims 4.

What's the Sims 4 like if you are only interested in the house building aspect? Worth it, or is there another game that fills that niche better?

Sims 4 is actually great for house building. It's the best in the franchise. It's the storytelling and Sim personality where it's lacking.

Funnily, I'm the total opposite. I am here for the zany and random gameplay and prefer just downloading lots from the gallery.

The supernatural stuff can GTFO, this is the stuff I want and I'm glad Maxis seems to be realizing that with University and now Tiny Living.

Give us movie theaters, cars, casinos (especially casinos) please.

both is good imo

there are many different players of the sims- some prefer CC, some prefer house building, some prefer gameplay, its a wide net to cast with this game
