Skater XL Steam Early Access Teaser ( live 19 December )

Looks smooth from those few clips. I'm not going to expect anything beyond mediocre, though. There's like.. 3 other Skating games in the works by small (one is even being made by one person) indie devs that claim they'll be the answer to Skate, but they haven't been able to do much. I'll buy into this, though. I really do miss THPS and Skate, so anything that could bridge that gap for me, even a little, would be nice.
So how's the mobile game this is based on? Has anyone played it?

Need to see more but just the animations alone make me super amped for this. Plus the spots! Courthouse looks sick. Switch flip switch mannys all day!
Sessions animations are still looking terrible and the game plays stiff as a board so hopefully this is better than that.

Didn't even know about this until yesterday and I already can't wait for it even though the early access is coming out 9 days from now. Animations look smooth, not perfect, but they are by far the best out of the games I've seen (like Session). I'll def be keeping both my eyes on this.
I just want a Tony Hawk HD collection all the way up to American Wasteland and all the music intact.

Video looks smooth, wonder what the control scheme is though. NEED it to just rip Skate's controls, Session seems too weird

The controls are similar to Session's, but you turn with the left analog stick. I'm sure there are more differences, but I haven't seen anyone explain them in depth.

They've done a neat little android skate game in the past that was pretty sucessful. According to the video reveal description, they've been working on this project for 4 years now in secret :D
This looks so damn good.
That control scheme (which I think is the same one used in Session) will take a while to get used to after years of Skate lol

at the very least you can still steer with the left analog on this one :P
Fuck, this looks so smooth and just damn awesome. Kind of reminds me of True Skate on iOS (yes, I know these guys worked on an Android game and not that one). Controls look intuitive enough, too.
IMO it's one of the few sports that can get away without having any licensed names attached to it, as long as you have a quality product. Looks like it plays like a dream, I bet the Steam Controller would be fucking ace with it, too.

They should put this on the steam page. It sold me on it more than I've been sold on a game in a long time
