Weird change imo. Noticed immediately at work and thought it was dumb. but still eh. It's just a productivity thing like, who cares that much.
Yeah this is way stupider. the new default profile pic is bad.
I like it, honestly. And I like how non-pretentious they are in their post explaining their reasoning.

The reasoning is fine, from a branding perspective. But the new logo is significantly more bland.
How is it significantly more bland than a Hashtag? By default that's not even possible.
It feels like they took Google's colorway and applied it to a generic logo that carries no implicit meaning. It lacks character.
The hashtag has built-in associations to interpersonal communications of all kinds, and I found the original coloration more interesting.
I took far longer than I care to admit looking at this before I realized what it was. But my God... that's good.
