I think I managed to make Terranigma work decently with the ivarr87 patch.
Down below in his reddit post he links a second fix, made to work with a headered rom.
What must be done is :
- Apply a header
- Apply ntsc patch
- Apply his Canoe fix #2 (posted in the same thread)
I didn't apply the 8x16 patch because I don't really like, it seems to work anyway.
If it doesn't work then make sure your game dump is the same as what he links in his thread, a different file may give you either a black screen followed by a c7 error or distorted glitchy sounds (usually happens with an unheadered rom and his Canoe fix#1)
The game seems to run and sound fine, maybe not perfectly but far from the glitchy mess it was on my first try.

Hackchi is a must for this thing for the reset feature alone. Having to reset using the console button was a terrible idea.
Former lurker here, I just wanna say thanks for all the resource you guys provided at NG. That threat (& this one) are invaluable.

Even if GAF returns to normal, this thread was full of really good information that needed to be in multiple places. Still not modding my SNES until the bug is fixed.

Did the weird illusion of gaia fix ever get better? Last I checked it still had weird issues with black menus.
Glad this thread is available. After I beat a few games on my system I plan on putting my copy of Terranigma on it. Hopefully compatibility will be better by then.

Glad to see this made it over. Lots of great work that would be a shame to never see make the jump.
Just download a program like FLIPS. Then you pick Apply Patch, choose the .ips file, then choose the ROM to patch.
