Purple lightsabers are the best.

Samuel L Jackson was right to demand to make them canon.

Imagine Mace Windu with just another blue or green saber. Bitch, please!

Kylo's one is so cool. The way it crackles and roars so angrily, the way he always stomps when he ignites it, the way it just seems so big and heavy (Rey holding it in TLJ makes it look enormous :P). Love that shit.

Mace wins for me, then Kylo and Qui-Gons. They all seem slightly more functional in my head cannon, as they have somewhat of actual grips on them, instead of just being smooth metal. Sure the force helps them grab on to it perhaps, but I don't know enough about SW to know. Others that have grips are higher up as well, and for me green wins over blue.

Also, I hated Kylo's at first, but now I love it. Due to it seeming like it's overclocked and almost unwieldy, I like to think that the force helps him subconsciously control it, which is why his swings have so much weight to them. Like, if you put the lightsaber on the ground and turned it on without holding it, no force applied, it'd flop around like a wild wacky inflatable flailing arm tube person

I own nice, expensive, metal versions of almost all of these. Because I'm nuts. In no particular order, beyond the first which will forever be my favorite.

The only one I don't have yet. I'm holding out on getting one until I make it to Galaxy's Edge.

In our game we recently had to make just about every lightsaber for our relic feature so I got to paint a good amount of them (ugh ellipticals in perspective ugh)

Adult Ahsokas are my absolute favorite. Just badass.

As noted, Sidious has cool ones

Darth Trayas though, rarely seen and pretty fun to be able to explore the more obscure stuff

Even Darth Malaks, its pretty simple but one of the few designs that actually sells the "KotOR takes place 1000 years in the past"

For the hilt I actually really like Dooku's lightsaber. Unique design without actually being all that different from the originals.
For the blade, Kylo's is probably my favorite not for it's shape but for how unrefined it looks when. It just looks like a real raw power surging through it instead of the nice streamlined look the other sabers have.

EDIT: Oh shit, never seen Ahsoka's before. Those are really cool too and might overtake Dooku's for me.
Also an honorable mention to Durge's stupid lightsaber shield things from the old Clone Wars cartoon.

Kylo Ren's is the best.

They really need to pump out more sequel trilogy video games, the only way to play as him in a game is still within the lame lightsaber combat in Battlefront 2.

You work at EA? You would not by any chance know if the decision for the lightsabers in Fallen Order to cast shadows was made by the game designers or directly by Disney? I am really curious, because for years, I have argued that the canonical depiction of lightsabers was to not cast shadows, because in the movies the digitally created lightsabers such as Yoda's all did not cast shadows, so I thought that saber shadows in the movies were an oversight during (post)production. They did not cast shadows in most games of the LucasArts era, but started being depicted casting shadows in the Clone Wars animated show, so I am wondering what's the official stance by LFL/Disney at this point.

they totally should not cast shadows

Luke's design from Jedi. I think it will always be my favorite because it's not just some "hand me down" lightsaber, as he built it himself (no idea if that's still canon or not).

It depends on how you approach a "scientific" explanation of lightsabers. Some speculate that their blades are actually made of plasma, so they technically should cast shadows if blocking light from a considerably brighter lightsource. Like shining bright light on a lit candle will make you see a faint shadow of the flame, too. "Faint" being the key word here, as the shadow should never be as opaque or distinct as the solid materials next to it. But then again, saber blades are said to be the same "material" as blaster bolts, and the blaster bolt that Kylo froze in mid-air in TFA did not cast a shadow on the ground.

TCW canonized saber shadows, as seen here:

But then again, they also used pointy saber tips when the movies usually didn't, and the TCW sabers also do not flicker when they should, so their depiction is all over the place and personally, I just store them inside the Filoniverse canon like the rest of his work and don't take them into consideration much.

I just want more green lightsabers, god damn it. Luke's green saber looked so amazing against the dark, moody backdrops of the Emperor's Throne Room. The only bit of green we've gotten in the new film era is just... Luke again, holding his lightsaber above a kid for a few seconds.

It's hard for me to choose, as my mood shifts often. Either Luke's green, or Obi-Wan's from ANH.

I very much dig Kylo's as well. He seems to have taken Ben Solo's and overclocked it.
