My brother and I used to watch this movie all the time as kids. Haven't seen it in a long time, not sure how it holds up, but what I do remember of it is pretty good.
Where are we in the Sonic cycle? I can't tell anymore.
That Jim Carrey comment on RT's consensus will probably be the only reason I end up watching this.

I got stuck on a double shift a few years back at my old job on a slow day, had all the work done and I watched it since its literally just on youtube in full. I think it holds up well.
I wake up after it was at 59% last night only to see it up by nearly 10%. Wow, well guess I'll go see the film this weekend then.
The bad reviews for Sonic could be worse than the bad reviews for TROS, for 0-3/10(?) is a Zero for rotten tomatoes
I mean yea I know how all of this works and it'll probably still end up lower but maaan it's still hilarious the optics on it, that they were even so close at any point
Does a single person in this universe use Metacritic for movies in any serious way?
I went to compare this to Peter Rabbit which is probably the closest movie tone-wise to what I expect out of this. Unsurprisingly that was a similar score of 64%.
It would perform considerably worse, at least. The appeal of the Sonic design is a big reason why a lot of the footage works.
I'm a bit stunned there are as many positive reviews... maybe I'll catch it at a matinee sometime. Not going when there will be a million kids there lol.
I kind of would have preferred "jesus christ this is nightmare fuel"
Instead we got plain old "it's a standard kids movie that has a thing in it you used to like in the 90s"
Obviously I'm not going to actually watch this any more than I would watch the Angry Birds movie, but if it were truly disastrous I might have been tempted

I just find it extremely dishonest that they decided to put it in action right as Death of Skywalker came out and it hasn't moved by a single % for 50 days.
Is this something they actually announced or just fan speculation?
Yeah, normally the audience score would go way down or up by now after so many ratings, the percentage not budging once after many days is kind of strange.
