A few days ago, Sonicfox started a twitter hashtag that was simply "#IMGAY" in response to someone getting their underwear in a twist over Sonicfox's (apparent) overuse of those two words. Now if you know Sonicfox, you'll know that he's quick to dunk on people who try and come at him with stupid shit. And this is no different. Sonicfox spent the last few days on Twitter rallying against people like the aforementioned, and also explained why he says "i'm gay" so often (which even he admits isn't as much as he could be using it).
It's best to read the entire thread, because SF goes in not just on the guy I linked, but also on other people who feel the need to try and silence or otherwise police how he talks about himself.
I watched most of this unfold and honestly it shouldn't surprise me but it does. Obviously it didn't start there, but ever since The Game Awards when Sonicfox gave that amazing speech people have been absolutely 100% steam pressed about him being loud and proud about being GAY. Even other people in the FGC have been getting shit over defending him and/or the #IMGAY hashtag:
(^ Another great thread to read through)
Sonicfox is gay. He's a gay black furry who will demolish you in most of the fighting games that are on the market. And you're never gonna stop him or anyone else from being gay. But it shocks me that there's people who, whether gay or straight, try to silence him or shame him for being proud of who he is. I suppose it shouldn't what with the reactions from the Soldier 76 stuff a little while ago, but I guess that's me still expecting better out of people. I guess the reason why I'm making this thread is because even though I'm not gay, I couldn't be prouder of Sonicfox and how he's handling all of the haters who try to tell him how to live his life. He's an inspiration to so many people, and he should be an example. Not something to be ashamed of.
