OK if TLOU 2 is indeed releasing this year 2019 is a strong challenger for best year of this generation for me. RE2 Remake, Borderlands 3 and TLOU2 are GOTG hype levels for me. RE2 delivered and strongly believe in the latter two as well. And there goes my plan of playing nothing but BL3 this Fall.

Job openings, they've been hiring for Localization Quality Assurance Testers for various languages for months

As you can see they started looking for people to help localize the game into German, Polish, Korean and traditional Chinese as far back as November 2018, possibly even further. Looks like as of last month the positions for Korean and traditional Chinese have been filled while they're still looking for people to help with the German and Polish localization.

And it seems like all QA department positions have been filled now. https://www.naughtydog.com/careers

Huh, cool. Thanks for showing me that.
It was talked about in various threads here late last year that both TLOU2 and DS were in localization. I think at least one person here even works in localization though I'm not sure they know anything about these two specific games.
Yeah I was aware of a user on here working on DS, but I don't think he mentioned TLoU2. Anyway, your right since as poklane posted they've been looking for people to do the job.

I would be extremely shocked if TLOU2 was released this year.... like seriously I always thought of it as Q2 2020.

Mentally not ready >_>

I would not be surprised since it is public knowledge that Sony needs a big game for the second half. Dreams and MediEvil may release later this year as well, but none of them is guaranteed that Sony will have an exclusive game that sells more than 1 or 2 million in a month.

I hope TLOU2 is this year, next year is the moment next gen starts, things might get quickly overshadowed by the console hype.

Halo infinite very likely a launch title as well. Death Stranding, I dunno what that's gonna turn into. A next gen showpiece or PS4 swan song?

I thought there were enough hints that they're planning it for 2019.

Anyway, if they delay it to early 2020, this still means less than 12 months till release :)

posted?
https://www.vg247.com/2019/04/12/horizon-zero-dawn-god-of-war-collaboration/

Twice a year, Sony Santa Monica and Guerrilla Games each embed a handful of promising professionals in each other's studios, to give new starts a chance to visit a new part of the world and gain valuable experience. During a transfer, a God of War combat design specialist with a strong background in melee weapon design came from Sony Santa Monica to work with Guerrilla Games on Horizon Zero Dawn.
Hulst recalled that the specialist suggested that Aloy have a spear as her main melee weapon, to which he replied: "Well, why don't you create a high-level design before you leave?"

He also touched on engine sharing, stating that while he was pleased to see other studios use the Decima engine, he prefered other studios to create their own engines with the help of lead engineers, empowering other studios to create something better.

So is there any reason Sony kinda ignored remastering or putting Resistance 1-3 and Killzone 1-3 onto the PS4 era system? I swear Sony mostly just ignored anything FPS related, and decided to go full on mental with TPS remakes, or reboots. Even Medievil getting a remake, but where's the love for those two FPS series?
I imagine stuff like medievil is getting remake in the hope of reviving the ip and future new game potential. Resistance and Killzone future may be more uncertain since Insomniac and GG are busy with SpiderMan and Horizon now.

That's nice to hear !
Imagine being a developer living in California and having the opportunity to travel to Amsterdam (and vice versa) to work with colleagues from another studio, that's a great initiative

More about this for those who won't click on the link :
Hulst also spoke about other cross-studio liaisons, such Guerrilla Games sending sound engineers to assist Media Molecule with projects and frequent conference calls with Naughty Dog.

We got Benji making it out like 2019 is a sure bet for TLOU 2 yet we are still mo-capping people and others are just now getting done. That really doesn't seem to add up.

So May it is. Maybe Sony liking that Sep slot that Spiderman did so well in last year.
