4th option is very loaded the way it's worded. I think Sony will keep their exclusives to PS5 because that's the best way of getting people to buy their hardware.

I anticipate a Stadia-like solution for next-gen games, possibly a PS+ streaming tier to stream all purchased PS5 games. I doubt the new games will go to a buffet service like PS Now anytime near launch though, and certainly not PC ports

I think they need to be careful with what games go where.
Nintendo's brand Identity is probably strong as its ever been, Xbox' brand identity has clearly taken a hit. Seems silly to follow the example of the latter.

To be fair Xbox wants its brand identity to expand beyond console space IE xcloud and gamepass on PC. Microsoft has been moving more than just Xbox to a service platform. Basically windows itself, office, etc have all become live service platforms instead of stand alone software you buy. Very much in line in what they are doing as a company.

As a PS owner only, I don't even give the tiniest fuck about what other platforms Sony release their games.

if Sony do this, then they are dumb like its theres no point of buying a Playstation !

Then how come the best selling games on PS4 are FIFA, COD and GTA V if they're available on PC? There's a big market for consoles with or without exclusives, exclusives just help move more units than the competition.

That said I don't think Sony will release their high profile games on PC.

This was never said. Shawn, who isn't there anymore, was talking about multiplayer games.

Why don't you ask Nintendo? Some of you guys get your jimmies rustled easily. I'm responding to a user who is trying to paint the director of Ori as a hypocrite. (Comparing Sony porting games to PC to Ori should be ported to PS4). Not sure why you feel the need to bring Nintendo into this.

You said that PC is not a competitor platform, but platform holders clearly think it is.

Windows is the MS priority, so to them is different.

Because people forget millions and millions of people who play games just want something hooked up to their living room TV they can play shooters and sports games on. They have 0 interest in sitting on a PC, and 0 interest in discussing gaming like we are doing now. Probably the extent of gaming related media they consume is what advertisements they see at Target or Walmart.

Microsoft was always the innovation forward thinking leader of the industry, glad Sony is finally following. Took them way too long.

Because quality exclusives sell users hardware. When those users buy multiplatform software they are more likely to buy it for hardware they already own.

Pretty sure they were talking about MP. I don't think their SP titles are going to go to PC. Just like how their SP titles will never be on PS Now at launch.

That's why this thread about how people feel regarding Sony's change in strategy lately (with the rumor that Horizon Zero Dawn is coming to PC). So if Sony doesn't think so, then that's that. The only platform holder that is adamant on never releasing games on PC is Nintendo only and that is still irrelevant to what my reply is about. Sigh.

Horizon Zero Dawn and Death Stranding are definitely coming to PC. The engine works on both platforms. We could see future Decima titles making it to PC, with some sort of one year exclusivity on consoles. Days Gone is rumored to be coming to PC as well, right?

Edit: Detroit Become Human as well.

I've always said that, in a perfect world, exclusives wouldn't exist. So I'll always support any studio's decision to release a game in multiple platforms.

If sony releases all their future titles on PC, than I will just get a PC.
It will get all multiplats plus Sony and MS games, and it will support Dualshock plus free online. I will have no reason to buy a PS5.

Where this came from? lol

DS is on PC because of a deal with Kojima, not engine.

While I don't care if Sony games come to PC, I can also understand why some people would not want this as basically if questions whether you need PS hardware at all. I don't think Sony is going to put first party titles on PC though. No need to devalue the hardware chasing the PC buck.

There is absolutely no reason to believe HZD and Days Gone are coming to PC, and unless I completely missed it there's no rumors regarding Days Gone.

They could do what they're rumored to be doing it with Horizon ZD, release it 3 years later when no one actually cares about which platform it releases on.

It isn't happening, Sony exclusives still push their consoles, but it wouldn't matter to me as I always buy a PlayStation.

Exactly.

As I've said there is no denying exclusives are vital for a console to succeed, I just said that consoles have a huge market nonetheless since people here started acting as if Sony releasing their games on PC will be the death of PlayStation.

Edit: typo

i get you, and you have a big point here.. but Playstation without their exlusives it will be like no point of getting it espically if you have money to buy a PC. Playstation sell good cuz of their exlusives, Spiderman God of war , those names people go and buy Playstation system to play those big bad boys you know !

Rumor: Horizon Zero Dawn comes to PC on February 2020

One of the biggest Russian bloggers Anton Logvinov shared this information in his latest video. He predicted that Death Stranding will come to PC before the official announcement (tho it wasn't that hard) and now said this: Later he added:

I've heard it elsewhere as well, some months ago.

I would switch to Nintendo + PC only. No point in buying their hardware if I can get Sony exclusives natively on PC.

I'd do this as well. Xbox hardware is already irrelevant and I'd love to get rid of Sony hardware as well and just play all major titles on PC with a little Switch on the side. The environment would appreciate this as well.

Why are people voting to keep exclusives on one system? It makes no sense to us who buy the games...

They don't really make much profit on hardware sale anyway?
I can imagine Sony start exploring the option of playstation as a service, one on its own hardware, one on psnow , and perhaps PC playstation store.

Yeah - I think people need to stop viewing PC as some competitor platform to consoles. MS do not anymore. I think Sony sees it that way probably soon enough if they already do not.

Diff people want diff things. Some people just want a box like a console. Some people want a box like a PC.

No people want Stadia. ;)

Haha i chuckled at the last part

Yes it will happen more and more as we move towards things like game streaming where the platform is not always the most important thing. We are already seeing it happen with games like Detroit, Death Stranding, and some smaller published Sony games.

There really is no reason not to release them on PC, though I think Sony's strategy will be different than Xbox. Sony hasnt done it yet with a first party studio as far as im aware, and theyre mainly doing timed exclusives with second party games. The ones that have went day 1 are smaller games.

The vast bulk of PlayStation revenue is derived from their cut on multiplatform games and platform services. They are operating a platform business, and a damn successful one at that.

Why does resetera perpetually fail to get this simple fact?? Exclusive marquee titles are merely means to attract valuable single-platform owners to their ecosystem and it's insane to risk losing them just to earn some paltry profits.

Games that don't rely heavily on multiplayer should remain PS5 only from Sony's in house studios. Games like Gran Turismo and maybe MLB The Show could be cross platform. Playstation Now is the true wild card but they won't be newer titles.

That would be the first game made by a Sony studio on the PC (Detroit, Death Stranding weren't made by first party).

Really doubt it.

Horizon zero dawn wont come unless Sony change their mind for real and will give all their exlusives to PC. Detroid isnt Playstation ip, not Death stranding either Kojima pro is a indie stuido

Days Gone coming to PC, huh when did that happen? Also Death Stranding was always considered to be a PS4 console exclusive with a PC launch later down the line just like Nioh no? And Detroit Become Human was developed by an independent studio not owned by SIE
