Preview embargo has ended, so here is a round-up of all the previews.

Will update as I come across them.

Nerdist:https://nerdist.com/spider-man-ps4-hands-on-preview/
By this point, Spider-Man felt so complete that we jokingly asked the developers to just send it home with us. It has almost everything that anyone could have wanted from a Spider-Man title, and we've barely scratched the surface of it. Some aspects of the gameplay remind us of the classic Spider-Man 2for the Playstation 2, but refined to a much higher level. As excited as we are to finish playing through Spider-Man, the prospect of DLC and continuing missions is almost as enticing as the main game itself. Insomniac's Spider-Man is so enjoyable that we don't want to put it down any time soon. This is the comic book world that we want to live in, and it may be a real contender for video game of the year.

Eurogamer: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-08-02-marvels-spider-man
Ultimately, all the ingredients seem to be here for a superior Spider-Man experience. Playing through the first two hours of Marvel's Spider-Man reminded me of the first time I played Arkham Asylum or saw Guardians of the Galaxy in the cinema. These were deep, complex worlds I'd known for a long time on paper, and it feels exciting to see them opened up for new audiences and players. Spider-Man really seems to be having a moment right now, with new Marvel films coming up and Into the Spiderverse possibly going further into the wider multiverse lore than mainstream ever has before, it feels like Insomniac's take will be another possible entry point for new fans.

Hollywood Reporter:https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/h...r-man-is-definitive-spidey-video-game-1130566
The world that is crafted by Insomniac Games is truly beautiful, a lushly rendered mashup of Marvel's version of New York and the fantastical sense of urgency and urban power the real-life eastern metropolis evokes. Equally stunning is the character rendering, hyper-realistic at times (pores can be seen on character's faces) and yet still maintaining that brightly colored, saturated comic book vitality. From Spidey's suits to villains' iconic uniforms to a sunset framing the jagged skyline of Manhattan as Parker looks down from the apex of Avengers Tower, the game has a warm, understated allure that draws the player in and beckons them to explore.

PushSquare: http://www.pushsquare.com/news/2018...haping_up_to_be_the_best_spider-man_game_ever
The bottom line is that, even this early, we're confident in saying that Insomniac's made the best ever Spider-Man game here. It may well subscribe to every open world trope under the web-spinning sun, but when the end-product is this polished and consistent then that's not such a bad thing. Frankly, you'll already know whether you want this game, but we're more than happy to confirm that it meets expectations with aplomb.

With fluid movement, freeflowing combat, and a massive New York playground to swing around in, Marvel's Spider-Man is looking to be one of the best games ever to feature everyone's favorite webhead.

I got to play two hours of Spider-Man and interview Bryan Intihar. The game is great.

Hands On: Marvel's Spider-Man on PS4 Is Shaping Up to Be the Best Spider-Man Game Ever

The bottom line is that, even this early, we're confident in saying that Insomniac's made the best ever Spider-Man game here. It may well subscribe to every open world trope under the web-spinning sun, but when the end-product is this polished and consistent then that's not such a bad thing. Interview: Insomniac Games on Making Marvel's Spider-Man Its Own

Marvel's Spider-Man is shaping up to be the best Spider-Man game ever made, and we were lucky enough to sit down with creative director Bryan Intihar to learn a little more about the Insomniac Games developed PlayStation 4 exclusive. In our wide-ranging chat, we touched upon how the Burbank studio embarked upon imagining its own Spider-Verse, and we also learned the secrets behind the release's slick control scheme. Don't forget to read our hands on impressions through here.

Eurogamer has a bit on the Mary Jane gameplay: https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-08-02-marvels-spider-man

As for story, this is an original narrative written by Insomniac specifically for the game, but there are clear nods to familiar arcs. For example, one section in which we played as Mary Jane (reimagined here not as an actress, model or nightclub owner, but as an emerging investigative journalist for the Daily Bugle) had us sneaking into the Roseman Auction House, which fronts as a legitimate face of Wilson Fisk's crime syndicate. A fair bit of this was stealthing around so as not to be spotted, but there was also an interesting sequence that played up to her skills as a journalist, where you have to thoroughly search through a room to figure out what secrets it has hidden away. This turned out to be the blueprints for something called Devil's Breath, which Spider-Man fans might remember from the 'Brand New Day' storyline from 2008. This arc also included Mister Negative and Black Cat, who has been confirmed for the game's first piece of DLC content.

In a move that took me completely by surprise, Spider-Man incorporates the archaic mechanic of tower reveals, that is, points of interest that you have to find, travel to, and solve a puzzle at in order to reveal a map of the immediate area, as well as the locations of other points of interests like side missions, challenges, collectables, and Far Cry-style outposts.

Fuck YES

Scarlet Spider
I wore this suit for most of my play session. This is the Ben Reilly original, complete with the awful blue hoodie and giant webbing wrist bracelets. The level of detail in the suit is impressive. The hoodie is an independent object that moves realistically when Spidey performs acrobatic feats. Using sophisticated AR tech, Spider-Man can project holo decoys as the Scarlet Spider. They stand motionless in the environment, and look a bit like the holograms in Star Wars. These projections also use voice clips to distract foes. Peter is wildly amused by his holograms and periodically says something about them. You'll need three Crime tokens and two Landmark tokens to unlock this relic from yesteryear.

For shame, I've been forgotten:

Here's my lengthy preview of Spider-Man's early hours: Peter and his supporting cast, combat, skill trees, costumes, and the city itself.

It's quite good.

And here's a news article on just the costumes. Yeah, folks; OG Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider is in there and unlockable early on. I ended up unlocking it and using it for the rest of my demo.

2099 and both Homecoming costumes are massive plusses for me. They're some of my favourite costumes. Insomniac done good.

2017 has Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey for Nintendo

2018 has God of War and Spider Man

It's your turn Sony.

I'm so excited. This gonna be the best super hero game since Arkham Asylum.
