What's the value of strategy guide is if the game has like doubled it's selection of map, weapons and gear since release?
The value is that it highlights Splatoon 2 in stores for a second time around.

I'd assume it was made recently, & I wouldn't be surprised if it included details of the remaining maps before weapon/map DLC support is supposed to end this summer.
Basically
A lot of first-party Nintendo games usually never drop anyway, so something like this is a good way to get people to pay attention.
They seem to be doing this a lot lately. Seeing as they rarely drop their game price, I would say it is good thing better than nothing.
They should include sticker sheets with every "enhanced edition" from now on and use the Labo lable for them.

I'm curious to see if they do something similar with other major first party games like ARMS & Super Mario Odyssey.
Doesn't seem as interesting as the Zelda one which had some history besides BOTW stuff.
I'd be interested if the game already had the DLC in the cartridge but I'm guessing it's the same game as the launch version.

March 16 seems a bit late, but people should definitely give it a go.
Since it's a new SKU I *believe* it'll go up for pre order meaning you can get it for $48 which is actually cheaper than buying it now.

LOL. The MSRP of Splatoon 2 hasn't changed. It'll stay full price like 99% of Nintendo games do for years. This has nothing to do with maintaining that

They would keep the $60 price tag regardless of the new SKU, as they have done for years and years. I'd rather they add these little perks than nothing at all I guess.
Agreed, but this also gives them a new SKU to sell into retailers, ensuring more shelf space and a nice bump in attention. It is really smart.
Yeah, doing these new SKUs for shelf space would make sense given the retailer situation. They know what they're doing.

Love this. As a kid I treasured strategy guides. I would imagine it can be hard orienting yourself in a 3D arena in a fast-paced pvp game like Splatoon 2 if you don't have a lot of gaming experience. Map layouts with strategy tips for specific spots would be awesome for something like this.
First party prices seldom drop unless they move them to the Nintendo selects line.
I was in Walmart a couple of days ago and all WiiU first party games are still $59.99.
I will be 36 years old when this comes out. My wife and I each have it digitally, plus we have a physical copy. I am considering buying this just for the stickers.
