chaos is a ladder.
There is so much more stories to tell, and not just going forward. It's so exciting.
Hah, I noticed they patched the appearance of the Mythic Bracers of Clarity. They look dark steel now. Before, they looked exactly the same as Bracers of the World Serpent (golden), which always bothered me since it seemed like an oversight. I posted a complaint about it awhile back too lol! Very small change but I’m glad they did something about it.
Hyperion Grapple is probably my favourite runic for BoC.
This one encapsulate a lot of what makes the game's combat so special. I tried to go back and finish the side activities in BotW after GoW but I just can't get into the combat engine.
Ok how are these high quality Gifs made, they look stunning!
Moment to moment combat in this game can look better than most choreographed fights in movies.
I really hope that they do an extension of the dev commentary video, like Valve did for Half Life. I'd love to hear Barlog and co's thoughts on pretty much everything in the game
And still I ask myself how the dwarves/devs came up with tne name LEVIATHAN for a norse myth game
Finally demolished my first Valkyrie on the second try. Am high level 8 and fought the one in Niheim for the first time. Put the whoopin on her. Hopefully the last one is not too hard. These Valkyrie runes are great.
Has anyone asked Sony Santa Monica about a NG+ mode???
Anyway, I would have been curious to see Cory Barlog's responses to what was deliberately left out of the game. I watched a few spoilercast videos with him, but most people were just praising what in the game and asking him about why a put certain aspects in instead of why he chose to leave certain details out.
I have questions like:
What convinced him and his team to not show Fraye's appearance, or a flash back?
Why embody Kratos' torment with his conflict with Zeus versus him wearing the ashes of his wife and child? I would have originally assumed that his struggle to embrace Atreus would be his own skin reminding him of the the murder of his child by his own hands (He also had to abandon her again in Hades in the Chains of Olympus game).
Why deliberately focus on the Serpent horn blowing even though its effects had no obvious impact on this game or its story? If it's foreshadowing for future events, why not have it at the very end of the game?
Why choose to embroider Kratos within another prophecy when we already saw him deliberately conquer fate in GoW2? Do different beings have influence on your "fate" depending on the realm? How can Kratos be directly influenced if he is a God and not of the realm? On a side note, due to time being nearly convoluted (shoutout to Dark Souls) I wonder if the Jotunheim Kratos and Atreus went to was the Jotunheim of the future (hence all the giants being dead, the place being dilapidated, and the drawing detailing events yet to come)?
These aren't criticisms. I was just curious.
Well I suck at photo mode. Someone can take a good pic of a traveler so I can transcript the runes? Thanks.
Does anyone have any theories as to what creature the large bones at the lake of nine belong to ?
Just beat it, best God Of War by far. The drinking scene was hilarious. Visuals are out of this world and fighting was incredible.
Very surprised that we never saw Thor, Odin or Asgard once.
So Atreus is the God of mischief with spartan blood in him.
Sequel this gen or ps5?
Just realized Mimir said that a sgian-dubh is from his homeland lol
You'd think the accent would be a more obvious giveaway
Just started playing on God of War difficulty and my God is this game brutal. Can't wait to see all the little details I probably missed. First conversation with Baldur is so much better knowing that he thinks he's talking to a giant while Kratos thinks he knows he's a Greek god
kikiribu best scene bro..
In regards to hints that Atreus is Loki
Has anyone figured out what Cory keeps teasing in these spoiler casts yet?
So I finished this a few days ago and am now watching the Super Best Friends play through it and after watching the Easy Allies spoilercast and learning of how many hints of later plot points are through the game it's really fun to watch a playthrough. Seeing Pat (or Matt or Woolie, I forget who said it) mention offhandedly how Nathan Drake was here colouring in all the handholds made me giggle because 1) it's a funny joke and 2) it's actually what happened with Faye lining the road for Kratos and Atreus. And seeing Atreus light the giant lantern with the prayer, it foreshadows both Faye being a giant and the escape from Hel with using the heat from the fire to lift the sails.
I actually believe that God of War is one of the few titles where every single cutscene is stellar.
I think it probably largely came down to the one shot nature of the game. Having to work that in probably made them very concious about wasting scenes.
so what all has Barlog said in regards to spoilers in these spoilercasts?
Platinum in the pocket. 99% complete. Its time to start A:O
Can't believe how much changed from the initial reveal back in 2016/
Kind of wish the first troll fight started this way actually.
Oh yeah, anyone remember how in the first reveal there was a spirit/thing in the background?
Is anything like that in the game? Is it a Light Elf to go with the Dark Elf that flies by a little later? It's weird how it was there in the background watching then jumps away when Kratos gets closer and I can't think of anything in the game that was like it, unless it shows up in places as you play but is hidden like in the reveal? Or could it be an early-ish Valkyrie, with that head/helmet?
So Atreus is drunk when he's being a brat right? And he says "I couldn't have done that" because he blacked out a bit?
Can you do anything with the worm like creature in the Mountain mines?
I think they’ll go the route of making Thor look worthless without Mjolnir. His ability to effortlessly kill Giants comes directly from Brok and Sindri “overdoing it” with Mjolnir, which they regret making.
Since this is the spoiler thread so no tags right!
I just beat the game and even though I'm really enjoyed it, after all the great things I've heard about the end, I expected more from the realm of the giants. The Baldur fight was fine and cool but I thought maybe just be a Thor scene or cameo. But no!!!
The revelation that the boy is half giant was cool but nothing breathtaking. His name though certainly raised my eyebrows , Loki!!!!! I'm super intrigued now.
Can't wait for the sequel, overall my game of the year easy!!!
