No wonder Telltale went bankrupt and people were annoyed with the first season of Hitman.

The first episode of Life is Strange 2 was released in September, and episode 2 is scheduled for release sometime during January. I personally have zero interest in picking up the next episode after such a long time.

This is unacceptable.

Another person that can't comprehend the way a video game production can have problem or how much work is needed to create anything.

Yeah why did they not speed up the game making machine?

Lol

I picked LiS at 5 bucks and it was very bad with cringy dialogues, never liked the episodic model and with LiS 2 they upped the price, probably the new characters are going to be better than Chloe and Max.

Unacceptable is what telltale did to their workers. Not only LiS episodes are bigger in scope than anything telltale ever put out but they also threat their employees well and the game doesn't crash every 5 seconds

Maybe they plan to use the revenue generated from the episode releases to make newer episodes?

Just telltale that shit. Waut a year until urs all released, get the whole bundle for a 10 spot. Episodic games always have delays.

Any bugs will be ironed out and you can play the entire game in a weekend. Win/win.

Is this your first episodic game?

History has shown that waiting for the whole "season" to be finished is the only way to get the proper experience.

I love the format of episodic games but dislike them for this reason. It's probably not practical but I kinda wish they'd wait until they were nearly complete and could hit a timely release schedule. Any more than 1 month between episodes is too much, in my opinion. I often wait until the penultimate episode is out and then start them.

I wonder how you do cope with the wait between TV seasons, because those are even longer...

It's better than them rushing out new episodes. There's no guarantee that this will be the standard gap either.

That's the fatal flaw of the episodic release method when it's used to get revenue as quickly as possible. If it's being employed so that each chapter is be released as soon as it's made (and before the next chapter is almost done), it needs 5 (or however many chapters) PR pushes to succeed, because consumers forget it exists after a few weeks. It looks appealing as a concept in a budget, but it has hidden costs in terms of dropped customers from chapter to chapter. Those losses far outweigh the benefits. But sometimes that budget dictates all. Sometimes you need the cash from episode 1 to fund the development of episodes 2 and 3. It's the game dev equivalent of relying on payday loans. Stupid, but necessary for those on the edge of disaster.

The production values are way high than the first game, so... I'm ok with this. Loved the first episode!

Telltale eventually got a pretty good rhythm down. I believe only Wolf among us had a 4 month gap (and that only between the first two episodes)

Yeah, when it originally launched. There was a lot of conplaints over the numerous different bundles for all the content and the online only playability. Things really turned around for the mass opinion when the GOTY edition cleared everything up.
People were annoyed before launch yeah but most of those complaints about the episodic nature of the game mellowed out around the time Marrakesh released. It was only after that one Super Bunnyhop video that people started praising the change in release model. I still prefer how the older games did it but it's the kind of thing that definitely works for Hitman.

Episodic is a stupid system. Tales of Monkey Island was bad enough when that had a 3 month gap between episodes 1 and 2. That did steady up to monthly releases after that though.

There's no reason to get the first episode day 1 with games like this, unless you desperately need to play it day 1 for whatever reason. I don't know if it's happened with this yet, but I can't think of an episodic game with a season pass that hadn't revirece a significant discount by the 3rd episode at the latest.

I'm going to echo what others have said. This is an episodic game. There was no promise for how long the wait would be for the next episode. There really isn't an issue here other than impatience.

This doesn't need to be a thread.

Oh I agree. The episodic format worked out rather well once you actually tried it. You can even feel it's influence still there with how much the game pushes you to replay and the awards around it. Which I like as well.
