Stacey Dash Sorry for Her Past Trump Support: "I Made a Lot of Mistakes"

Stacey Dash is stepping out of the political limelight and even issuing an apology for her past outspoken support of former President Donald Trump.

In an interview with The Daily Mail published on Thursday, the Clueless star said anger is what drove her political stance and motivated her to be a conservative media contributor.

"I've lived my life being angry, which is what I was on Fox News," said Dash, who currently stars in the Nick Loeb-directed drama Roe v. Wade. "I was the angry, conservative, Black woman. And at that time in my life, it was who I was. I realized in 2016 that anger is unsustainable and it will destroy you. I made a lot of mistakes because of that anger." Dash was dropped as a pundit in 2017.

Not offering specifics, Dash told The Daily Mail in a combination of video and print remarks that she was sorry. "Things that I did say, that I should not have said them the way I said them," Dash explained. "They were very arrogant and prideful and angry. And that's who Stacey was, but that's not who Stacey is now. Stacey's someone who has compassion, empathy."

As for her time at Fox News, Dash said it was her job to support the right-wing narrative. "I'm not a victim of anyone. Working for Fox at the time, that was my job. I did my job from the place I was at. Stacey now would never work at Fox, would never work for a news network or be a news contributor."

So courageous to walk away from supporting Trump when it no longer benefits you to support him. So courageous.

the grift of being a Black Conservative that Fox can bring on to give them cover for their racism is over. It paid well I'm sure.

Fox News calls stop coming because they no longer have a need for her now that Biden is President. "Oh shit! "Better apologize so I can act like a liberal again and maybe get some work"

Is she really referring to herself in third-person in her own apology?

Also this line is gold: “Stacey now would never work at Fox, would never work for a news network or be a news contributor.”

Now that the hustle is over, gotta move onto supporting the next scam. I don’t know what is worse, owning up to being a trumper or saying it was just your job/ for money.

Fox News isn't paying her for appearances anymore eh? Money dried up. Now you are "thinking more clearly" and all that since the grift is no longer in style.

So many are going to try to save face/careers at this point.

You want forgiveness, show you've changed. Don't just give some "I'm sorry" statement and think we should all just move on.

Lol like they'd even want her. They now are focused on trying to appeal to MAGATs and the last thing they want is to see Black people on their television.

"I was the angry conservative black woman" as if that's a common stereotype? Like, maybe I'm naive but I can only think of a handful. I don't think that's a large enough demographic to claim you got roped into a bad crowd...

The fuck is a stacey dash angry about? Like to begin with.
Definitely not excusing her or even assuming she's genuine but it's fucking sad how I have seen Conservative talking points turn the people in my life ANGRY.

My Brother used to be a chill dude until Trump came along. And now he's angry about everything. The economy. Immigrants. Welfare. Cancel culture.

basically whatever the Right tells him to be angry about. They run on anger and it works on a lot of people especially those that aren't particularly happy about their own lives. It gives them somebody else to blame.

Dash had her bullshit views before Trump was a political force. So she can keep her bullshit apology.

The people she decided to leech off of for well over a decade while dumping on black folks don't hold power anymore, so she's hoping off the bandwagon.

This ain't an NFL team. She gets to live with that shit.

Has the grift run out already?
per the article it ended in 2017.

but im not sure what yall want. She never says thats not who i was, but if she did yall would be jumping all over her to. How can we let people have room to grow if we're just going to shit on anything they say and do?
She still needs to do actions, cause actions speak louder than words. But im not going to shit on anyone who owns what they did.

also this. Everything conservative is all about instilling fear and anger on people. Fear of the other, fear of change, anger about anything perceived as the slightest of slights.
