Yeah I forgot Voyager. Thanks for your help!

Something like this?

TOS → movies 1 a 6 → TNG --> movie 7 (Star Trek Generations) → DS9 movie 8 (Star Trek: First Contact) movie 9 (Star Trek: Insurrection) → VOY → movie 10 (Star Trek Nemesis)→ ENT movies 11 a 13 --> DISCOVERY

I was thinking about watching a complete series before watching another, its better to mix seasons?
I'd say watch watch full series, it's just you mentioned release order.

In that case, after Generations watch all DS9, then Insurrection, then Voyager, then Nemesis.

EDIT forgot First Contact, I guess just watch whenever before Insurrection, though is a small scene that references a Voyager character of sorts.

We're less than 24 hours from the Discovery/Picard panel! I wish we could watch it live but I guess we've gotta settle for F5ing the heck outta TrekCore's twitter.

Sure. You can watch VOY whenever you want after DS9 because it's almost completely separated from events in the rest of the series and movies.

You're missing Voyager, if you're watch in release order you'd need watch S1+2 of DS9, then S1 Voyager, S3 DS9, S2 Voyager, S4 DS9 and so on.

I'd say at least watch up to S3, ep1 of Voyager (Basics part 2) before First Contact, just so you understand a small moment from the movie. Watch DS9 S6 before Insurrection, and all of Voyager before Nemesis.

What's the small moment in FC that is informed by Voyager?

Nevermind, i remember.

I feel the 'first actor to play 2 characters in an episode' thing has gotta be false. Will/Tom Riker and the holodeck full of Datas spring to mind for two things.

He plays two unrelated recurring characters who never meet in separate plots and he's got two separate credits (ie. Jeffrey Combs as "Weyoun" , then Jeffrey Combs as "Brunt") in the opening.

Thanks for the reminder that DS9 is eternally spectacular
Another reminder of how wild their ideas were, even if it never appeared in the show. Might have been invented for the novel universe but get this:

The Warhead module was a section of Defiant-class starships used as a last resort weapon.

The module made up the nose section of the Defiant-class, including the deflector dish, and had a separate miniature impulse engine to propel the warhead, armed with a magazine of six photon torpedoes, to the target.

How fuckin wild is that?

For those of you who follow The Expanse as well, a new trailer is up. I made a thread on OT and updated the... well, OT.

So on the one hand, I freaking called it.

On the other...

This feels... temporary. The
decline of the Federation is presented as some sort of mystery, and Burnham mentions trying to find where the 'domino' fell. Like this is gonna be a another future they undo.

Yeah it does feel like their task this year is to correct what went wrong.

I hope so because I like positive futures. We have enough dystopian sci-fi

I'm down for them trying to fix it going forward, but trying to undo it with time travel would be lame.

That's part of what leaves me mixed on this. It feels like the plotline of the season, more than like driving force of the show going forward. In which case they need some lynchpin solution, and unless something is somehow actively suppressing the Federation, it feels like the only option is to hit the reset button.

Fucks sake.

So much for "We'll do better" and "We will respect canon this time".
Discovery continues to more than rightfully earn it's place as the worst Trek series and the writers continue to prove they don't understand the first thing about what makes Star Trek special.

They better undo this by the end of the season and show this was basically an incorrect future caused by someone messing with the timeline and they restore the actual correct timeline, ala Enterprise when Archer is removed from the timeline and it temporarily screws the 31st Century until they correct the mistake.
