I started to rewatch S7 of TNG and I was kinda surprised to find out that they disassembled Lore. I mean Data was considered sentient being and had all the rights of individuals. Yet Lore was "killed" without trial. Can't believe I missed this part for so long. Kinda fucked up, especially when in previous episode Picard defended his actions that he took with Hugh.

Did Lore make comeback in the movies or novels?

I like how they moved the dividing line more to the right to have that parity with Discovery, but I don't like how the backing piece stops at the peak of the delta. It's like someone was trying to recreate the 2390s insignia from memory and got pretty close but not quite.

I suspect it was to keep in line with the Picard logo.

Speaking of novels, do any of them expand on Guinan and Q's past? In Q, Who? they make it seem like they know each other and she might have the ability to resist his power, but they never went anywhere with that, the rest of the series.

Nope, no book or anything ever expanded on this. In fact she has barely any story not on screen.

Also, based on that spoilery tweet up there, 120 minutes for three episodes = 40-minute average. Meh, I say! Meh!

Also, we can thank Patrick Stewart for shooting down Kurtzman's idea to recycle the same Picard/Borg conflict we've already seen:
Kurtzman's first instinct when coming up with Picard's adversary on the show was the Borg. Picard, after all, has had a colorful relationship with the cybernetic species over the years.

But not to Stewart.

"Patrick, in his infinite wisdom, did not want to repeat the things he had played already," Kurtzman said. "He was really resistant to doing the Borg for a long time, and it ended up leading us to a new version of the Borg you haven't seen."

Stewart relished the idea of tackling a new take on the longtime villains. "Everything was different," he said.

It's worse, but it's not a big difference in my book. It's weird that they did the same thing with the ds9 theme in later seasons.

Honestly,, in both shows' cases I prefer the versions found in later seasons. Especially DS9's, though — I love that the theme gets faster beginning with season 4, because I feel like the show itself picks up speed from thereon out.

I hate the Romulan ridges. They are supposed to be Vulcans who left Vulcan. In my view they should look like Vulcans. Just like they did in TOS and the TOS films.

It's interesting when asked about the Klingons the line is now that different areas have different Klingons, which is what it should have been from the start.

I know I should probably be excited for Picard, but I just can't work up much interest for it. Maybe if it had a better group of people behind it. I'm really expecting it to be terrible. Everything Kurtzman is involved in turns to shit.

Romulans are so xenophobic and loatheful of Vulcans that I'd believe they actually went and did a full species-wide genetic engineering initiative to differentiate themselves from the Vulcans visually.

I'd be totally cool with the Discovery Season 2 Klingons and the TOS movie/TNG style Klingons existing together. Maybe the Discovery Klingons had the empire taken from them by the TOS movie/TNG Klingons, which also included the Klingons that had become human looking and then in the TNG era the Discovery Klingons are less common having been nearly killed off and/or are used as slaves or something. Could do a whole story line of them fighting for independence and a Pike show could cover what lead to the other Klingons taking the empire.

Didn't realise Picard is on amazon video in the UK. That could get confusing if they're splitting them up across services (discovery is on Netflix)
