A280-CFE does stupidly good damage but overheats like crazy. It also puts your squishy 100HP in danger at optimal ranges. With the Marksman card you can deal out some serious damage but eventually grenade and blaster spam will wear you down in a shootout, assuming you aren't insta-gibbed by a headshot.

The problem is that it suffers the same balance problems that plague the rest of the game. Imo, the Officer and Specialist should have their HP pool swapped. This would make Assault and Specialist better at certain ranges (short/medium vs medium/long) but otherwise the same durability, and Officers wouldn't be so much of an all-around short and medium death machine.

I think Heavies are in a good place after the SCS nerf but I think base Sentry ability (no cards) should be buffed. Increase base damage per shot and give it the health regen that normally only comes with a card.

I haven't heard anything about an El-Hefe nerf. Last patch added scope glare to the dual zoom mod but that's about it.
It just doesn't seem to nail those headshots like it did originally, but I'm just back in after a break so maybe that's just on me.

The S-5 I'm starting to like as well, it hits like a truck but such a slow rof. I do like it tho in some cases more than blurg.

Here's a question what heavy do you guys find the best? I truly can not find one I like, the spread is insane it seems.. Although havent unlocked the 4th heavy yet. But it's because I just can't stand how the weapons feel..


And last thing I do like A280 with its extended range, It didn't feel right to me until I added that mod.

If you're just coming back, here's my quick thoughts on all the guns actually.

CR-2: Last patch nerfed its range and damage I think, but it's still good especially in cqc. Why use it when vanguard charge arguably performs the same job better though?
A280: I'm fond of it thanks to Pandemic's Battlefronts but even with the range mod, its rate of fire and accuracy condemn it to mid range only.
El-16 "El Hefe": Headshot beast and mods only make it even better. Slow fire rate is its only downside.

Heavy's 2nd gun: (Can't remember the name...) With range finder and explosive shot mods this thing is ridiculous but its range is still pretty terrible and it overheats in like 2-3 seconds.
FWB-10K (?): Balanced but boring. Good damage but slightly slow fire rate. Auto cooling and night vision are fun mods. Probably heavy's best long range option.
TL-50: Sadly no where near as op as back in BF1. Good damage but it desperately needs the cooling and spread mods in order to be usable. Ignore the grenade mod as its too weak and the other two mods are too essential.

IQA: Good sniper but can't kill in one headshot. Really good with bolt speed mod especially as anti-air.
A280-CFE: Terrible until it has the burst fire mod then good. I like it when playing as a brawler specialist since I suck at sniping.
NT-242: Very satisfying to use but slow rate of fire. Can headshot kill and its potent enough as anti-armor.

S-5: Standard hand cannon. Great if you're good with it, terrible if you're not.
Blurrg: Despite the 'nerf,' it's still an OP POS. Fun to use, but just like the Senate, you're not actually that good if you use it at every opportunity.
SE-44: Secretly the best gun in the game right now. With cell and rapid fire mods, this pistol is better than any other rifle at 'close' to mid range.

CR-2 - Havent used it since the nerf. I keep meaning to try Marksman + Assault Training with this gun for infinite cooldown and minor healing on kill.
A280 - Working through this now. I find it kind of average but I dont have the improved range mod yet.
EL-16 - Also underwhelming, good if you can get headshots but mediocre otherwise.

DC15-LE - Low damage but extremely accurate with the range mod. I find the explosive shot horrible since it reduces fire rate but increases heat generate with no appeciable increase in DPS. Also the only gun with the authentic pewpewpew Star Wars blaster sound.
FWB-10K - Theoretically good but excels at nothing. With Ion Shot mod this is my gun for Crait on Attack to farm speeders.
TL-50 - The spread mod helps but its not required. The charged shot is a long range grenade on a 5 second cooldown and too useful for me to pass up. Currently rolling Barrage+Bodyguard+Resourceful + TL50 w/ Charged Shot for the explosive spam.

IQA - Its growing on me. The week damage is annoying but the bolt speed is nice.
A280-CFE - My favourite gun but as I've whinged about on the last page, Specialist is too squishy to maximise its effectiveness.

So, I was messing around in Arcade Versus mode testing weapons and such.

Ion Shot - A flat 10% damage reduction across the board. This may mean a couple of extra hits for the FWMB-10K and CR-2 but for the A280-CFE, its 89 vs 99 for a burst to the body and 189 vs 198 for a burst to the head. Well worth it on the for the extra power vs gadgets, shields and vehicles, imo. Plus the muzzle looks cool.
Disruptor Shot (NT-242) - This one's trickier. You're looking at around 15%-20% damage drop off and/or possibly a reduced headshot multiplier but it gains a big splash damage radius. Hits next to the target were doing 63 damage from 1 metre away.

I'd be very interested to know the bonus damage vehicles, etc. receive from Ion Shot and Disruptor Shot mods. Hmmm... Heavy enemy with Shield deployed perhaps?

DC15-LE - 16 to Body, 30 to Head in standard configuration. 25 to Body, 39 to Head with Explosive Shot. The fire rate is visibly lower but I've not timed it.

Most of the other stuff is fairly well known I think. There were people posting some results on the official forums but last I checked a month or so ago, their headshot multipliers were incorrect for some guns.

EDIT: Tested vs Heavys shield and standard officer turret

A280-CFE w/ Ion Shot
vs Shield - 3x damage
vs Turret - ~2.5x - 3x damage

NT-242 w/ Disruptor Shot
vs Shield - Instantly destroyed plus 63 additional splash damage.
vs Turret - Instantly destroyed, otherwise 4 hits without the mod

All of this is pretty much spot on. I actually use S5 just to get something different in there but the main reason I like it Is you can really fuck people up with headshots if they're already somewhat damaged, especially if they're already hurt even a little. But yea Blurg is still my go to. I'll try to work with the SE-44C a bit more.

They really need to force players out of vehicles at certain phases that they currently don't. The game is generally good about forcing you out of starfighters at the appropriate times, but they really need to expand that to ground vehicles. I think they fixed the AT-RT making it to the 2nd phase on Naboo (or at least I can't remember the last time I saw someone do it), but they also need to (IMO) kick players out of AT-ST's on the 3rd phase of Jakku, and remove AAT's entirely from the last phase on Kashyyyk. Jakku is broken for the First Order now that people know how to get the AT-ST's into the 3rd phase. I just ragequit possibly my first BF2 match in hundreds of hours of play because two ridiculous players with all Epic AT-ST cards were spawn killing us on the 3rd phase of Jakku. It's not intended, but there's no reason that should even be happening in the first place.

In general ground vehicles are ridiculous, in particular the AAT and AT-ST. Even as someone who goes on 50+ killstreaks in both of them they need to be nerfed pretty hard, the fact that you're so incredibly OP and you can regnerate full health is ridiculous, and you can have two of them up. I don't think some maps should even have two up at a time, but at the very least they need to nerf their health regen ability, it makes zero sense that you can fully heal in those things and they're way more destructive than any hero for a fraction of their cost.

Mine has to be Mos Eisley. When it was announced it would be included I was super excited and they didn't fail to deliver.
It's such a beautiful and atmospheric rendition, full with little details. And both the small and large version of the map are super fun to play imo. And I always seem to be at the top of my game when playing Mos Eisley, so that helps to I guess :-)

For me, it's Crait. Apart from being stunningly beautfiul thanks to the world design, everything about it really throws me back to what I loved about SWBF2015 -- epic online battles with everyone throwing everything at each other. This is made better by the fact that it feels way more open ended and flexible with its objectives than the other maps that work in a similar vein. I mentioned before how the middle objective can take forever to resolve, but it's a good kind of tedium with almost everyone needing to put in the work to keep/take it.

For the all visual shitshow it tends to create, it is remarkably balanced well for me.

I’m amazed that Crait works as a map given that the first phase is a field. Really clever design. Fun, too. Progression on it is top tier.

I actually really like Kashyyyk. The original night version was too dark to see jack, but that was fixed in short order, and now I have fun on either time of day. Fun progression on either offense or defense.

I also really like Crait.

You know what I fucking hate? Jakku for the millionth goddamn time today. How the fuck does that shitshow pop up so often?

All I know is this for a console I'm always impressed when I play this game. Went ps4 mainly due to where some friends are but as a Pc guy I find myself just totally impressed with what they pulled off on consoles. Such a beautiful game.

I love that if DICE doesn't release a patch this week, they will already have broken their promise of patches every 4 weeks which they changed from patches every 2 weeks.

Truly one of the premier AAA devs of our time

Death Star 2 because it is an almost strictly infantry only urban map. Mos Eisley was better back when A-wings were allowed and there wasn't purple at-st's and senate shenanigans everywhere. All of the nighttime maps are incredible just for looks.
I imagine we'll be getting a SOLO map when the film drops or afterwards. Perhaps Corellia? Hmm
A Corellian cityscape to run around in would be awesome but my money is on Kessel. There's already too many mountainous areas in game so what's one more. Hopefully it involves the (trailer spoilers)
train somehow. I recall an og BF2 mod map that took place on a moving train on Corellia that was pretty cool. You had to fight car by car and you could see buildings zoom past if you looked out the windows.

We'll get a starfighter assault map too that takes place at some point along the (trailer spoilers)
Kessel Run with its space! kraken.

Nope, which is kind of surprising since you would think they'd be trying to get people to stick with the game however they can (I usually recognize 5+ playernames in any given GA lobby which is....bad). Weirdly enough when I was messing around with BF2015 the other day they have double XP active there?

75 cred pittance in the dailies and the embaressing rewards for many of the challenges make it not even surprising they haven't had a double credit weekend.

Despite the ridiculous costs in game for skins in particular, Battlefront 2015 gave so many chances to earn more.

Hell, skin costs became trivial for me after a certain point because I was just drowning in so much credits the last time I played SWBF2015.

This game...overall i have fun everytime i play. It has so much going for it, but all these little nagging things really bring it down.

So tired of these assholes that just get in the hover car thingies on stages and just drive around and run people over. Emperor is ruining this game with the lightning through walls bs. Heroes in general to me just completely suck and need to be nerfed.

For the love of God, how are the load times when leaving matches and starting matches still soooooo slllllooowwwwwww? The load times should've been one of the first things addressed. Lastly, the progression system is just so disappointing. It takes an eternity to gain a level. For people like me who can't always play everyday, it makes a true sense of progression seem totally out of reach.

And how long has this game been out now? And not ONE double XP weekend yet? Not even one??!!! That's quite disgraceful.

Honestly, the longer we go without regular updates, the more detached i become with this game. It's a shame because when it's good, it's really good!

So I just played a completely unsanctioned, incomplete, fan-built mod of Halo 3 for PC (Halo Online / "El Dorado").

It had a fully functional team scramble in place between rounds, a server browser, and absolutely no rubberbanding.
