Interested to see how they implement some of the heroes. Dooku in particular could be interesting with both force lightning and a lightsaber.

I got a bit bored waiting for E3 conferences to start and came up with a list of random costumes that could be implemented as cosmetics. Right now it is limited to strictly Imperial movie costumes from the OT, Rogue One, and Solo... but that still gives a ton of variety.

A huge percentage of these already have the assets available, either from the campaign or the first game. I guess I just wanted to see a glimpse of what this games customization could look like, had they tried to monetize that way instead of their initial plan. It's really a shame seeing costumes locked to just having 3 alternate faces, considering how many more options existed in the first game. There are, of course, hundreds of more options to pull from with the other factions, prequels, sequels, other EU work, non-canon old EU work, minor costume variations from the films, original costumes from DICE themselves...

Solo:
Patrol Trooper
Range Trooper
Mimban Trooper
Mud Trooper
Mud Trooper Officer
Mud Trooper Heavy

Rogue One:
Shoretrooper (Captain)
Shoretrooper (Grunt)
Shoretrooper (Squad Leader)
Tank Commander
AT-ACT Pilot
Imperial Ground Crew
Death Trooper w/ Light

A New Hope:
TIE Pilot
Spacetrooper
Imperial Gunner
Imperial Technician
Imperial Line Officer
Imperial Staff Officer
ISB Officer
Imperial Bridge Crew
Imperial Scanning Crew
Imperial Navy Trooper (there are two variations just in this image)

The Empire Strikes Back:
Snowtrooper Commander
AT-AT Pilot
AT-AT Commander (it's not the same as the current officer armor, I swear)

Return of the Jedi:
AT-ST Pilot
Imperial Guard

Great list. They really have to capitalize on skins and emotes now.
With the new positive vibe around the game, now CW has been confirmed there's real money to be made if they can dish out skins at a steady pace.

That EA showing was absolutely pathetic. Its nice knowing that shit is in the pipeline but no footage...at all? Just a graphic of Grevious?

EA's conference in general was really bad.
"Hey. How we just announce a new Star Wars game just by word of mouth and nothing else? Here you go. Jedi: Fallen Order!"

Are you serious? Could not be bothered to just have a lightsaber activate, illuminating the words: Jedi Fallen Order and then cut to Holiday 2019 as it fades to black?

Also, Lando and L3-37's Millennium Falcon costs a (somewhat high, IMO) 35k credits to unlock. The skins are legendaries so expect a sizable 80k a pop.

Nobody is gonna spend that knowing the clone wars heros cost credits
The clone wars season still seems like a way off, I've picked up a skin for Han and I'll get one for Lando once I save up another 40k credits. After that I'll probably just start saving up for the clone wars unless a really good skin comes out in the meantime like Crait Luke.

Extraction seems fun but in typical DICE fashion they didn't think it through, it changes maps AND factions every round, so every server you play you will only ever be Rebel on one map and Imperial on the other.

Edit: I may actually be mistaken about this first part? Sometimes it's keeping me on Kessel, sometimes it changes after one round.

Also the playerbase is full of fucking whiny children that will rage quit in the middle of the round as soon as the match gets even slightly challenging.

LOL they did not playtest Extraction on Jabba's Palace at all. I'd put money on it.

The final stretch of the payload is literally unplayable for the Rebels, you straight up cannot see out of the tunnel, it's got the overbright blinding DICE light, and that's where the Empire sits to defend. You're literally firing blindly into bright white sunlight. Hahahaha

Was it that bright where the enemies spawn? Because it feels unwinnable. I was on a team that was steamrolling the other team for the entire map, and in every other game. But we couldn't get past the edge of the sunlight because it was so blinding.

It was bright, but not as bright as now. But that could also be the HDR, which the first game didn't have I believe.
I think the difficulty lies in the fact that you have to be near the carrier to move it. I've had many close matches on that part of the map in the previous game, but you could always trie to kamikaze in with your jetpack and activate the carrier.

Can you drop a shield on the carrier? Seems like that would be the way to win that. Spam officers with the fully upgraded shield.

I got a bug on the outside with my entire screen turning way too bright lol

And the Kessel map is terrible IMO.

DICE still doesnt know how to create good indoor maps

Kessel is cramped even by DICE standards. Tiny corridors everywhere.

Can't drop anything directly on the carrier. You'd have to run in front of it and drop it and you'd die before you even got close.

So, I've read that the game has issues with HDR. Was that ever fixed? My younger brother just got a 55" 4K HDR TCL TV a few hours ago for his room, and he was playing the game on his PlayStation 4 Pro, and while the game looks great, the colors and contrast looked weird...but I don't know if that's because I haven't had time to properly calibrate it, or if it's the game. NBA 2K18 looked okay, but I felt like it needed some small adjustment...but this game just looked weird. Don't have any prior experience with HDR. SDR YouTube videos on the TV looked great, though.

If it's the game, then I guess I'll just turn HDR off for it.

Got the game in the Days of Play, didn't really expect it to be really good, but I just wanted an FPS.

Played the main campaign, which felt like a big tutorial so that you can play multiplayer later. And I gotta say the multiplayer part is amazing. I only played it a few times but it really feels great. The objectives are interesting so it doesn't feel like you are just there on a deathmatch, there is some level of strategy involved to succeed. I don't know how to put it in words, but gunship battles are a bit boring, but for some reason you feel deeply immersed in those battles that you want to play more and more (and I am not even a SW fan). One thing I disliked at first was the TPS mode, wtf, I wanted a FPS and I got a FPS/TPS mix. When playing online I am good (aka: top third of the players) until we start getting points to summon the special characters (that are TPS mode only). Fuck, I am not good playing with them, that's when I go downhill in the leaderboard (yesterday I killed 6 buys in the first minutes, then when people (and I) started using the special characters I only killed 2 more (probably in the double of the time).

So, tips to get better with the TPS characters? I know that you have to unlock the habilities so that they get actually better, and the only way of doing so is playing with them, but I really suck. Yesterday I was the chewbacca 3 times and only managed to kill one opponent LOL. I do feel like the main problem is it being TPS and I find it more difficult to aim.

Learn to play in 3rd person. Being able to peak around cover without exposing yourself is just too much of an advantage to pass up. Just keep playing in 3rd person, you will get better at it.

On an unrelated note, I played Kessel last night. I hate to say it but this map sucks. Its fucking tiny. Maybe it opens up past the 3rd checkpoint (thats as far as we were able to get) but holy hell, claustrophobic is an understatement. Its just not a fun map.

I was the same in Battlefront 2015, I played that game first person almost exclusively. But somehow the third person gameplay in BFII clicked for me this time and I didn't turn back.

Just force yourself to play in third person, even if that means your not doin as well as you'd like to do. (A high k/d doesn't get you on top of the leaderboard anyway and for whatever reason stats aren't available).
My guess is that you'll adjust to it in no time. Arcade is perfect for trying out all available classes and heroes and get familiar with all their abilities. And you'll earn a few credits on top of that.

1st person mode has always been terrible and unpolished in both EA Battlefronts, it's not really worth using them, I think. Especially when not all things you can play as even support it. It's an afterthought.

This "Conquest" mode better deliver, and I hope all of this stuff comes before Red Dead Redemption 2 drops.

Also really excited for all of the four heroes.

I finally got to play Extraction last night. It was fun, but all it did was make me miss The Outer Rim maps still absent, Greedo and Nien Nunb. Also, this mode helped me finish that awful Disruption Milestone. What a pain. Now I can begin work on my headshot Trophy.

I then impulse purchased the new Falcon, so I can't wait to try it out in SFA today/this weekend.

Hopped in again after the patch.

I know it's for the sake of quicker load times, but the class select and endgame highlight screens kinda look like poop now.

Yeah, I hate the new menus. They look cheap and rushed, as well as ugly with everything having a faint green tint. And considering the point was to make the character models more visible, it completely failed. Battlefront 1 did a better job at doing that.

Funny jumping back in after a few patches. Glad the weird hologram display has gone and it's awesome to have extraction back. I just hope they have some new maps.

It's better than the hologram shit but I agree it's very slapped together and sloppy.

All of the user mods for the spawn screen etc looked way better

They really should've just gone for the minimalist approach like they did for the previous game, but from a better and fresher angle of course. This newer UI just feels a little too f2p for me.

Yeah, there is a lot of steamrolling going on right now because of the PS Sale new people. This is especially considering I see a huge uptake of players who haven't customized their characters.

By comparison, I've been playing a lot of Battlefield 1 lately and I've rarely gotten into a super one-sided match the entire way through. In fact, a lot of upsets/comebacks tend to happen in that game.
